Enough of the comments around execution and chances. I was at the game…they played well for about 15 of 60 minutes. And just not enough skill – lots of shots right into easy spots for the goalie.
The “stats” don’t show the lack of heart and soul the team traded away.
Not sure this team would be in the playoffs in the AHL.
I’ve never seen a team insist on passing the puck through the other teams players. It creates such opportunistic chances. Praying for a good bounce is not smart. Also their zone entry is broken. They are not moving/skating as a team. Just horrendous to watch.

I am never that “torch & pitchfork” guy, but this performance screams to fire everyone. Yes, a meaningless game at MSG is a blaring warning that this team not only stinks, but has no direction, no discipline, shitty passes, and just careless.
Fire the coach, fire the GM, trade the roster, and start getting young blood on the ice.

All we need is a net front guy and the power play will take off. Maybe a veteran player. 6’3 , maybe 225-230 lbs. Maybe a guy with good hand to eye coordination, you know, to redirect the puck
You know uhh we had good looks but you know that’s one of the best teams in the league over there as long as you don’t consider the other 30 teams who are uhh actually better , but you know we controlled all that uhh territory none of which is beyond the goal Ind unfortunately, yeah because that great Vancouver team really tested are mighty defense to almost come up big and uhh our great scorers having all that pressure to beat the worst team in the league is just too much on our guys to get good shots iff in front of the 20000 people watching our every move there
"Great looks," If I had the solution." That's what you're paid for. Your system didn't work for the last 5 years in Pittsburgh. Why would you think it would work here with our core of overpaid, past their prime veterans and AHLers? Your 5 forward PP is 0-25 with 2 SHG allowed. The experiment is an abject failure. The solution is easy. Blow it up and start over. There's no way this group goes past the 1st round if they should be lucky enough to get into the playoffs. Why bother?
