Monty just can't be trusted to win games right now when his numbers are bottom of the league. I don't know who'd take him, but it's time to stop pretending he's an NHL goalie and trade him for whatever we can get. But again, I can't imagine a single team wanting him when he's be a massive downgrade to anyone they already have.
No on starting Monty, enough messing around. The way he's playing he would probably clear waivers to go to Laval.
Matheson will be missed. Let's hope the bottom 2 defence pairing can play a decent game.

Thank god matheson is out , hes a turnover machine …its not our goalies its the fact our blueline is full of turnover machines like matheson dobson carrier hutson , they are all shitty defensively , actually dobson is ok ..however you cant have a dcore full of the same type of dman plus a shitty defensive structure from a pond hockey coach like msl…a blueline full of evan bouchards ffs
Matheson being out will hurt. The man is our #1 D just based on minutes alone.

Fowler is a fine choice, it's a busy week and Dobes can use the rest for when they need him. Let the coaching staff do their job.
It's simply a numbers game. I looked up Save percentage, and Montembault is in the bottom four goalies in the whole league. No team wins a division, a conference, or a Stanley Cup with a goalie who plays at that level. Sad for Montembault, but good for the team.
So Dobes wins last game and doesn’t play the next game ? He was fantastic ! He was the reason they won !
Poor Monty! Trading him would be a solution, but he's having such a poor season that his value must be quite low. They can't trade one of the youngest goalies, they are the future of the team! Hughes and Garton have clearly a problem to solve in front of the net. I hope Monty will be able to bounce back elsewhere: we all know he can be good, but I feel his time in Montréal is over.

Dobes does better after several days rest. Let Fowler start the next 2, Dobes on weekend in Pittsburgh. Monty is odd man out until he settles down.

Honestly… Im REALLY starting to question MSL choices. Once again Dobes was incredible and is HOT right now, yet MSL is choosing to Ping Pong him AGAIN. WHY… WHY does he keep killing the hot hand, i truly dont understand that.
Like i LOVE Fowler and think he did incredible in both games… But pulling the tendy who was hot is just the sure fire way to KILL his confidence ONCE AGAIN.
Hope dobes can get his mojo back and be more consistent. He will be one heck of a back up for Fowler down the road.
I do believe Fowler should stay in AHL for the rest of the season. No reason to rush him in an inconsequential season.

I feel St Louis played this almost perfect. Remained loyal to the players and put the ball in their court. It was dropped too many times for monty.
Which games the goalies played could be debatable though lol.
You dont just take your #1 goalie out after a few bad games. That sends the message that if you struggle then you are out.
What Marty did was put the message, "We will give you every opportunity to succeed, its up to you to get to the end goal. "
Yet he also knew when it was time to pull the plug. He can now ride the hot hands of Fowler and Dobes until one falters before bringing monty back ( or the Chicago game but im not sure on that one yet. )
Either way, exciting to see young goalies in Montreal again who play well.
Mathewson is out because they worked him so hard that his body begins to breakdown… his TOI was astronomical… way to much time – naturally he is going to go down… same will happen to Hutson … you have to manage time better or moderate the distribution of TOI for top 3 or pay the piper… like that old Fram commercial “pay me now OR pay me later” … thx Josh

WOAH! I think we should keep Monty until near the end of the regular season as a minimum, just in case something goes wrong and we should change. I believe in the young goalies, but we want to make sure we don't have expectations tat they cannot meet…The bottom four on tonight's defense are going to have to step up without Matheson!!!…Don't worry Josh, I know he has the flow…and the snow…but we don't need "Riley" Segras. We are fine.

Easy Josh Monty is not done, perhaps he is hurt. Don't forget, if Monty gets his game back we have good trade chip. Unfortunately Abrar Xhekaj can't do anything right in Marty eyes. When Xhekaj gets traded and he will, on his return he will crush the Habs. Marty never liked the Sheriff title.
