How Can The Panthers Defend Their Title Without Aleksander Barkov?

Panthers three-peat chances took a major hit with the news of Sasha Barkov tearing his ACL. Likely out for the year, how do the Panthers move on from? Could Patrice Bergeron come out of retirement?! Could the trade for Malkin? Or do they think they have their answer in house with Lundell?

  1. It hurts us, for sure. The beautiful thing is, we have zero reason not to believe in Zito to bring in someone that can help fill a center position OR the boys not to step up. This team is damn resilient…

  2. Hard to imagine anything topping the Marchand trade, but Bergeron would be Troll Level 11. Twitter would go so crazy that Musk would have to sell it.

They don't need to replace Barkov, they just need to beat the other teams, and they have a lot to work with.

BTW, Bobrovsky will take a pay cut to stay.

  3. As a PAnthers fan yea its sad but doesnt hurt so bad. B2B Cups and tbh we can still make playoffs easy without Barky thats just how stacked we are

  4. PS athletes typically recover from ACL surgery 7-9 months… "exceptional athletes" may recover sooner. Id say Barky is more than exceptional. He could be back before playoffs

  5. Good video boys and solid points (per usual) . So i think at this point , Barky is out for entire season and thats what Zitos mentality is here. Zito WILL be making a move folks. its not if BUT when. I agree without Barky , team takes a solid hit BUT Zito will be making a move to fill some of that void and with that move, 3 x is DEF back on table. grab the popcorn , cats aint done yet.

  6. Sucks for the team, but it’s about the next man up. I like what I’ve seen from the young guys in the preseason especially Studnicka.

  7. Sadly, I think we are screwed. I feel for Sasha having to miss the Olympics as well. 💔 Let's not forget that Chucky is out half the season as well.

  8. I love you boys to death but nothing in Bergie's personality would let him jump to another team like that and that should be obvious. Not making a political statement or a fan-based judgement or anything; he's just not that dude.

  9. Reino Selke szn with 45+ tucks, Verhaeghe comeback szn, Sam Bennett plays up to and beyond his contract, Lundell scores 55+ points, Mackie looks like Hubie Jr OR… Marchy 2.0👀 The one thing that might actually sink us is an injury to the blue line

  10. Panthers can still absolutely win the Cup, they are still a top contender. It’s just not a forgone conclusion anymore that they will

  11. Except Barkov's injury happened during practice from one of the most freakishly awkward falls ever caught on camera.

    So…..get rid of practice? camp?

  12. Barky is a complete player there is no denying it. However that’s the difference between Panthers and a lot of the NHL teams (..EDM notoriously). Its not reliant on one star player, but we have a complete team. There’s no promise any one way about where the Cup will go, but we aren’t totally down and out.

  13. Losing Barky for possibly the rest of the season is devastating but I'm not giving up hope about a 3 peat this season. Afterall, Cats have 9 lives.

  14. I don't think Zito will bring someone else to the team when we've signed a few guys already from other teams. So more than likely those guys will help pick up where Barky was supposed to start.

  15. It hurts. No doubt. Nobody can shut down elite talent like Barky. I’ll never say they can’t do it though. They’re just that good.

  16. This guy should be the two time reigning Norris winner this is devastating. Florida is still good, but not nearly as good. The lines are super tight in the league

  17. Its hard. Barkov not only led the team in his humble ways, as a leader, but also on the puck drops. It will be hard to find a replacement but they are going to try

  18. Well, ekblad cancels out Forsling. That's how bad Ekblad is, so we are not going to be able to shut down scorers if we can make the playoffs.
