  1. Not paying what was owed sure didn't help. Longer lease or the Mullet. HAD MERUELO NOT BEEN SUCH A CHEAPSKATE Things could have been so much better for everyone. Had the team been built without trading all the talent been traded away, possibly the team would have started earlier. The Gila River Arena WOULD HAVE BEEN PACKED, had Meruelo not been the prick he is. ONE THING FOR SURE, YOU CAN'T ""OUT STUPID" ALEX MERUELO!!! NO MORE MERUELO IN ARIZONA!!! Fans would rather NOT HAVE HOCKEY than have to deal with Alex Meruelo any more!!! He needs to go away!

  2. Thanks for proving why the team needed to leave AZ and needed to be sold to another owner. They already had a $900 "check" for a new arena before they even left the state.

  3. When the Yotes decided not to pay the rent .. that violated the lease and allowed Glendale give them the boot. Had the Yotes paid their way the lease would have been in effect.

  4. Having worked 14 seasons out at Glendale while living in the East Valley, it was not ideal but when the team was good from 2010-2012 there was good attendance. The problem you have when an arena is in a bad location is that the product on the ice has to be winning to keep fans engaged. That plus the constant talk of relocation every few years didn't help.
