Providence Bruins Sign Christian Wolanin: Former NHL D-Man Joins AHL Team



The Providence Bruins have signed defenseman Christian Wolanin to a one-year deal, adding a former NHL player to their roster. Wolanin, a 2015 fourth-round pick by the Ottawa Senators, brings a wealth of experience to the AHL team.
A standout at the University of North Dakota, Wolanin had a successful college career, winning an NCAA title and academic accolades. He transitioned to the NHL, playing for multiple teams including the Senators, Kings, Sabres, and Canucks. With 86 NHL games under his belt, he’s now ready to make an impact in the AHL.
Wolanin’s AHL career has been impressive, winning the Eddie Shore Award and the Calder Cup with Abbotsford in 2025. His offensive skills and defensive prowess will be a great addition to the Providence Bruins.
