  1. Kekko is the first GM hired by the Sabres with previous experience as a GM in the league…..
since Scotty became GM in 86…..wow.

  2. Jeremy White from WGR550 has a good track record when it comes to rumors he speaks about.

  3. Kevin Adams should have never been hired as Sabres GM.

He came in with zero front-office experience, no apprenticeship, and no proven track record. That inexperience showed immediately.

The Ryan O’Reilly trade was a failure at the time it was made. Regardless of how Tage Thompson eventually developed, Buffalo lost massive value in that deal. O’Reilly was a Conn Smythe–caliber center, and Adams sold low. Outcome bias does not change the process.

His public comments have consistently hurt the organization’s credibility. The “we don’t have palm trees, we have taxes” quote was embarrassing, unnecessary, and damaging to player perception. A general manager should recruit talent, not publicly acknowledge why players might avoid your market. That comment alone showed a lack of professionalism expected at the NHL executive level.
