There is no chance they are a better team after this trade, what a moron. I like the return but come on… they got a 2c a developing top 4 d (with significant potential but a work in progress defensive game) and a maybe adequate middle 6 forward with some upside left. They subtracted a norris caliber dman. Their defence has already been terrible. More trades are likely coming as well

Well as long as Demko stays healthy this team will win. The trade did make us a better overall trade, I'd hope we trade a few expiring contracts sooner rather then later to help the tank but we never get good lottery luck.

It's a fair return and not middling. Mgmt took the best offer and most teams that could be in on Hughes made an offer so there's that,Blake. I want to see the Canucks pick as hiigh as possible,as weell, but they had a good team and still do. THis means the Canucks play Lankinen for the Tankinen. Trade off vets with expiring contracts now and get back picks,play young guys. That will provide us with good hockey but not enough to rapidly ascend the ladder in points.

I’m starting to agree with Blake on the return. I was originally mad as a hornet, but if we pick 9th, I’m pissed. How many more deals occur and what the return on those deals yields will tell me everything I need to know.
They need to trade out other guys asap. Sherwood, Demko, Boesser, Hronek, Hoglander.
Now I like Blake Price even less. The good news is, all our worry won't make the team any better or worse. So I'll just enjoy the games.
Stop looking for issues, this was a MASSIVE return for a team that historically makes horrendous decisions and bad deals repeatedly. Just take the win and hope to god the next move isn't retarded
First off, minny isnt going to represent the west. Edmonton (albeit a weakened squad), Colorado and Dallas are all well ahead of Minnesota.

Never thought I'd say this, but I'm happy with this trade. We should be better without Hughes at this point, as the team played badly around him, but the new guys won't improve things themselves. Trade Sherwood and Garland next as they're in their prime and can massively help a contender, so they have value. This will hurt the team short-term, and the tank is done…

I have never been on team tank. This trade was the best seniario in this situation. The organization has their goals. Get younger and better. Make your moves based on your goals. If the team tanks, they tank. But why do you wanna foster a losing culture. What did tanking do for the leafs, the Sabres seem to always be in the basement, Edmonton, still doesn't have a cup.

It is a good trade , but is it not a tank trade. A true tank, rebuild trade would have had Riley Heidt or Charlie Stramel as part of the deal, instead of Rossi.
