My opinion is is that Mathews quit when he never returned for the 3rd period in the playoffs when nylander rang him and marnie out on the bench a couple years back. I was saying it then and I’m saying it now. He’s checked out is my opinion
I question their conditioning???? It seems they run out of gas awfully easy. Chief should bag skate the heck out of them. I remember some years ago when the send went to the finals. Seemed like almost most of the time they were being interviewed they were on their exercise bikes. Conditioning
How come no one is talking about 34’s effortless attempt in OT against the Sharks to get the puck in their end then basically zero back check when it was him who gave up the puck.If he would have got on his horse he could have caught that player or at least showed some energy & slid out or something to try to defend that goal that was his direct fault.When you see that effort from your C what are you telling the rest of the team?Then last night was built up to be 97 against 34 & 34 was an absolute no show.Don’t try to tell me he’s injured or something he lacks drive.90% of his goals come from when he gets set up & he has like 3-4 empty netters.He is not captain material.
Hey when you have a Captain who is totally disengaged emotionally. This is what happens, and if the Captain is physically and emotionally detached. The rest of the players are not dumb, they just refuse to tell the truth. Zero Passion..

The salary cap & salary floor of 2005 increased the role of randomness in the NHL. Why would you think that this wouldn't influence your perception of the player's degree of "caring"?
