This put a huge smile on my face to see tonight. I think this the first time he's performed for the Blackhawks since January 25, 1995. The United Center's inaugural game.
He still sounds great
Great to see Wayne back! ❤
My wife and I had made the sign the king size banner that said “no flag burners here God bless the USA“ that was shown five times during the anthem in 1991, since then I have probably watched that anthem 200 or more times, and it is one of the singular most patriotic moments in Chicago sports history, and our troops were encouraged that we’re watching it live overseas. Heck, Wayne even did a 70th birthday video for me recently. He specifically mentioned the no flag burners. God bless USA sign in the video.
Remember the Roar
Sounds beautiful
Haven't seen Wayne preform the national anthem since the Hawks moved into the United Center, he sounds awesome just like I remember🙂 In my 60's now but I will always remember so well those season ticket years 1981-1994 lol seems just like yesterday🙂
if frank would hit the right key would have been great
sure beats that slobbering fool they have singing now
Oh how the memories came flooding back! Wonderful to hear you sing again Mr. Mesmer! Wishing you all the best!
And then this band of losers proceeds to get shutout. A total mirage to start the season, fall off a cliff but Bedard was playing great, then he GETS HURT! Now they REALLY suck again!
And Harvey Wittenberg on the PA. Awesome!
Great memories
The anthem at Wrigley back in the day. Tear jerker.
Wayne still has the pipes. Not bad for being 75yo.
Wayne Messmer, bringing positive vibes and good company to his singing, to the Madhouse on Madison, and to this 100th Anniversary Blackhawks crowd.
Like he says, on his WDCB radio show, “live music is best”. Keep smiling, and singing, Wayne. Peaceeeeee…….
Still got it! So good to hear him for the Hawks again! You rock, Wayne!
Brings back Great Memories, Remember the Roar. Great job Wayne!
