  1. I feel a lot more confident after hearing Andlauer honestly. Sounds like Staios is trying to make some big changes still. Staios knows the team isn't there yet which is why he's 24/7 out there and making calls. The answer I heard is they 100% explored Quinn Hughes but probably it wasnt the right fit. That is good to hear though, really good. Andlauer also made a huge comment here – they know you can't lose a player for nothing. Gives me a lot of confidence regarding the Brady situation. If he won't give indication he'll stay early I'm confident Staios and Andlauer will take action early to protect the club and make sure we get a big return for him.

  2. That Quinn Hughes trade is Wild literally! Lol. Very happy for him though he needed to get out of Vancouver now he can battle it out in the Central Division with Colorado and Dallas. We did dodge a bullet if he's not in the lineup today against the Sens lol

  3. Amazing interview! Amazing owner. We are so lucky to have him. Who would have thought a billionaire is just a normal guy that shoots the sh*t like the rest of us. Love it. 🍻

  4. I grew up a couple blocks away from the land and remember an old beer warehouse on the corner.I’m still a little skeptical about the location but we will see.

  5. We are so lucky to have Michael Andlauer in Ottawa, truly. I hope our gov't doesn't screw him like they seem to for all developers / investors.

  6. I think the scoreboard is…fine. but they try to cram WAY too much info on it now. It's not big enough or designed to have all that crap crammed in there.

Probably the worst thing that could happen to this team would be moving regional broadcasts to Sportsnet. TSN is just so, so much better.

  7. As someone who lives out of market it is very annoying having to have Sportsnet, tsn, and prime to watch all the games….

  8. Great show! Michael Andlauer is such a good, and normal cool Dude! 😎
Algonquin Indians, Toxic waste, 4 levels of government, British Monarchy ownership, what a difficult uphill battle! Why is everything in Ottawa so bloody difficult? People are whining about some of their tax dollars going to an event center, that the city desperately needs, but don't say a word about a criminal lite rail system, that was never necessary, being $5 Billion Dollars over budget and climbing! It's still incomplete!

  9. Number 1 thing that's needed for the old stadium, and it can be transfered to the new one: buy a REAL bell for pregame… it has to be big to get the sound you want, they're made of bronze, about 15-20k usd😬

  10. The Federal Government blocking vendors from taking PS to games to talk business really took a toll on the Sens organization which is hilarious because it only seems to be a rule in Ottawa. I'm sure it still 'happens' but it used to be a worthwhile reason to buy a box or 2-4 seats.
The reason Toronto can charge what they do isn't just because of the market share, it's because 80% of their seats are tax write-off's that we're all paying for. Ottawa doesn't have that level of corporate backing anymore. The Nortel days are long gone.
Do not forget how much Ontario paid for the SkyDome or that Canada Post handed over some incredibly expensive land in the heart of DT Toronto for the Leafs arena. Ottawa did it on their own. Land, building, OVERPASS, everything.

  11. On the broadcasting point from the start of the show.
Why can't we just have Dean and Gord do the television and then air it over 1200? Do we not have the authority to press TSN on this?

  12. Follow the Seattle Climate Pledge Arena plan and you'll get quick access to government grants, funds, etc. That sort of thing plays right into their agenda's and we have nothing like it in Canada so why not in the heart of the NCR?

  13. Wally's gotta come off of the LRT stuff from several years ago, because we know he doesn't ride it. I take it to work and it's way better than the bus, and it runs regularly with an issue maybe every few months, just like a train in any other city.

The big issue now with the train is how short the west-east line still is. Apparently the extension to Trim will open in the coming weeks, but the west extension absolutely has to be in place well before the new arena is ready to go. For anyone who uses public transit to get to the centre of town and is coming from west of Tunney's or east of Blair, it's still a complete joke with the bus connections and routes.

  14. I don’t want to be paying more in taxes to support a new arena. They have the value of the arena they have now. Get the government and us to pay and then he has the money from the arena they are in now for himself. That’s how the rich get richer.
