Don't like it, but after listening to Bowman, let's see how it goes. It could work out.
They got a better goalie. If this guy doesn't think Jarry is better than this is a terrible trade. Is this guy high? Skinner is 27 now. This is it!
So the Oilers lose a shut down defender which will result in potentially more goals against, so we get a better goaltender to negate the loss on D, so it just balances everything out to a final result of NO DIFFERENCE!
This deal would have made more sense 9 months ago or at the coming trade deadline. Pulling the trigger now reeks of desperation imo. Make it make sense. Cause Bowman didnt sell me.
Maybe there a rift in the locker room we are not privy to, but I question the timing and how much we gave up to make this "deal"
really enjoyed tyler johnson's insights with tampa. appreciated what he did for the lightning during his time there, helping TBL win 2 stanley cups. thanks for giving tampa some attention today, daily faceoff.
Oilers have gone this long without a goalie change and they end up trading Stu when he is on a hot streak and gave up a starting D man. Plus the gave a second without retention craziness.
I would have rather gotten Silovs and kept skinner.
Bowman better hope he's right or his job should be on the line! Time will tell. Good luck to Skinner in Pittsburgh. This is a lateral trade.
Tristian is more consistent, but I think they should have kept Skinner and dump Pickard. Thing is Picks isn't worth the same trade as Skinner. I will be a Skinner fan regardless. This will be great for Stu's development. Jarry has a lot to carry. I think his experience will help calm the D team.
I think with the needs of both teams this deal works well for both.
Let's back up a bit with contracts to Nurse and Bouchard ….20.5 mil are you kidding me. Making the move on Jarry not sure BUT this move is going to wake up many people. On the positive, 3" shorter and 15 #'s lighter and an all star for 2 years. I know it's a wait and see situation BUT something needed to happen. In my opinion next person to go is worth 10.5 mil.
