Ellis Genge squats 200kg 😳

  1. It's madness that the coaches allow spotters for squats. If he's was unable to get back up the spotter could cause more harm than good. Just treach how to squat and throw the bar back should he fail.

  2. Keep up the great work champ , you got a young blood coming for your position , he folded you like a deck chair πŸ’― cant let that happen again!

  3. For all those commenting its lightweight, he isn't a professional power lifter or a body builder. He's an athlete than needs to have the stamina to play a high intensity cardio based sport where speed and fitness is required. Too many muscles doesn't help with fitness. Having to recover cos you've overdone it or getting injured in training is avoided at all costs because this is his livelihood. For all we know he could be recovering from injury as well and easing his way back into training

  4. Went to school with his old man plus beat his team Knowle Talbot 2-0 in the GFA cup final 1995 at Bitton

  5. I think he would be a good rugby league player the big runs he does. I'm not sure how 200kg compares to all black forwards or South Africa n forwards eny one no?

  6. Of course there are couch potatoes running their mouths in the comments. This is probably mid or at the tail end of a punishing workout and as an average sized guy he still is doing reps with 200kg

  7. People that say 200kg is light have a skewed perception about weights. Most men will never come close to 200kg.

  8. The guy is probably running on a field for a long period during the same day of this workout. Not some gym rat doing legs.

  9. Watch Olivia Reeves do it.. with no belt, no spotters,
    She can do 220kgs..1RMπŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

  10. Why bother risking a tendon tear for a 200kg squat? Tell me, when does a rugby player have 200kg on their back and slowly eccentrically contract during a game? Stupid

  11. For the people saying 200kg is a lot especially when you have to play a stamina sport, it really isn’t. 200kg is achievable for nearly all men if they’re willing to put even a bit of time, effort and consistency in. These guys are heavy (which helps) and train regularly with good diets etc. not to mention recent studies show cardio actually helps gains, and especially won’t interfere at low absolute weights like 200kg
