  1. ASP, Danielson, Soderblom, 1st for Quinn and it's a done deal. Im more hesitant giving Quinn the $15M per it might take on a long term deal. We don't even have a guy making in the double digits. It's gonna send a bad precedent in the future for Detroit(known as the TORONTO LEAFS effect).

  2. I'd imagine that the "two year stay" comment retarding Washington is more likely about them having two big playoff runs with him, not some thing about signing him for only two years.

  3. How many times do I have to tell the owner to REBUILD!! Properly!!! Get as many first round picks for Hughes as possible, He is a Generational Player!! Don't be DOLTS.

  4. Lego, let me spell out this article with more clarity for you. First, you mentioned the Flyers and Rangers being in the mix but he also said he doesn't think they have the assets to pull it off as well as the Caps probably not wanting to part with young players. So it's really NJ, Detroit, and perhaps Utah in the mix.

Next, the "two year stay" in Washington would be for this year and next while Ovi is still on the team. He's wasn't insinuating that Hughes would sign a two year deal there. This has been brought up a lot recently that even a team he wouldn't sign for long term could bring him in for the duration of his contract knowing that he would walk to sign with the Devils in 2027. Or they could flip him at the 2027 trade deadline (ala what Carolina did with Rantanen, albeit for a longer duration)
