Damn, Edmonton got boned on this trade. Dubas gets a goalie back, Kulak and a 2nd? The Oil will be no better and possibly worse after the dust settles. Skinner will probably do well in Pittsburgh now that he won't hear constant whining from Edmonton fans. Those people up there ruin the atmosphere for the players. I'd be glad to get out of there.
As a PENS fan..I see this trade for what it is..a $$ move..they take Jarry off the books …for the next 3 years & the 2 guys they get back are UFA'S @ end of season….now i hope JARRY gets some HOME COOKING..gets his game back…im really rooting for SAM POULIN…I wanted him here…so im glad hes getting a shot somewhere else

Poulin isn't an NHL player, mostly because he can't skate at an NHL level

Skinner is UFA this year so would have either have had to re-up him or let him walk for nothing.

While it's true that Skinner helping the Oilers get to back-to-back Finals is not nothing, it's also not enough.
It wouldn't surprise me if Edmonton insisted that Pittsburgh take Skinner in return because if they hadn't, they're only options would have been to either trade Skinner to another team or place him on waivers.
