To bad for Beck, I can see GM’s voting to get rid of the offside replay as 99% of the time the player being offside has no significant effect on the play. Big waste of time.
More like he put Dobes and Montembault on notice. Fowler made the saves that kept Montreal in the lead. Something the other two goalies couldn't. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Montreal still has trouble making too many defensive mistakes.
I’m gonna say this, this was our best lineup since the big 4 injuries.
Slaf can pretty much be counted on for those late game minutes, matured and iq keeps developing
His battling and able to use his body to shield and control the puck , great to see , he could play with either duo
Let’s keep building up Kapanen , he is a 2C scoring wise , just need to develop the faceoff skills

Slaf should stay with Demidov and Kapanen but maybe towards the end of the game, he can go with Caufield and Suzuki when needed
I am impressed with the instinctive timing that Jacob Fowler exhibits in dropping into the butterfly and his quickness on bouncing right back up from the butterfly onto his skates. This allows him much quicker maneuverability to cover his crease. His style of play reminds me of Carey Price
They looked real good the 1st two periods. Fowler looked real good in the 3rd. He got better every period.
If I'm MSL, I would say…See? You guys CAN play defense.
If this team put the effort into every game that we put in during the 1st 2 periods, we'd be hard to beat.
Finally a goalie not scared of the puck
There are not too many players around the league that I'd trade Slaf for right now. He's gonna be absolutely dominant in a couple of years. And his attitude is top-notch!
Great start by our new goalie star Fowler, I'm happy to see Slaf joined again with young lads, the chemistry is there and Juraj is just Slafkovský showing haters they are dumb, by the way what a shot by Texier, great game, great team we needed this win 🙂
Great game by Fowler. But guarantee that if in a few games from now if the kid falters domewhat, some fans will call for his head saying he was overrated. I'm taking odds.
I find it strange that the goalie that get scratched is dobes, when he’s got better stats than Montembeault. Normally you would scratch the worse of the 3
PENS ANNOUNCER TALKS TRASH ABOUT FOWLER'S MOM! Here in Denmark, I watched the game, at 2am, and had access to the backstage Pens Telecast which doesn't make it live. It's a weird glitch we have, and I saw Josh Getzoff say this to Colby Armstrong before the game, "She's crying? She'll be crying a lot more when he allows 10 goals". I could have puked. Colby didn't stop him. I have the video but don't know how to share it in the comments… feel free to ping me and I'll send it to ya, Boys.

I just hope we play like that in the next game , I guess only time will tell! All I know is that if Fowler doesn’t start next game… I just hope the worse goalie coach in the world doesn’t work with Fowler . Keep him away !!! Also why was montembault the backup ?? He deserved to be in the press box … I don’t know why they’re always favouring montembault over Dobes who cares if he’s French he sucks !

Fowler was fantastic. So glad they finally brought him up. Cannot blame the first goal on him. Slav, Hudson and Anderson were all really good in this game. Glad to see Gallagher get a goal.
Fowler's game was impressive, but it is TOO early to thank him for saving the Canadiens in 2025-2026 and believing he is the future Ken Dryden or Carey Price. This was one game. Dobes had a series of good games to start. Montembault can bounce back. It's best to avoid the hype and see what happens.
Okay first things first, year 4 of a 5 year rebuild. Easy with putting more pressure on the kid. The process in continuing and I have faith in management.
Slaf has been great. Fowler has put NO ONE on notice, besides he played one amazing game.
Dobes started like that. Halak did that in the playoffs. Penny did it.
