  1. "Everyone gets up to play the Leafs, I just wish more people would get up to BE a Leaf" – I absolutely felt this in my heart. There is no better description of this group, and it astonishes me.

  2. Actually I think your math is wrong on percentage of games that you watched live and the leafs lost. It should be 67% 😉 Can you handle that truth?

  3. One of the sad things about the overtime loss was that they had wasted such an incredible performance from Hildeby. The beast was fantastic last night and that safe from behind his back is going to be a highlight reel for years to come.
Something that’s becoming clear right now is that despite Willie‘s efforts on goals, which showcase his innate skill, he just makes no effort otherwise and his defensively so passive it’s ridiculous. He rarely takes his man or gives proper coverage, and covers about waiting for an outlet pass so he can try and get a breakaway, and it’s just so frustrating to watch.
And players around the league are getting wise to his puck- on-a-string loopy loops he can’t get away with it anymore.
    That needs to change. Fast.

  4. The Leafs are fortunate to be where they are, for 3 reasons. The NHL has given them the most home games of any other team so far….they have played the fewest back to back games….and good goaltending has bailed them out. I can also add that there are so many other teams close to them in total points because of general parity. They are at best, a .500 team.

  5. How in the hell can you say Matthews was the leafs best player when the game winning goal was totally all on him. Terrible cut into the middle against two defenders, turns puck over, the laziest back check ever in the nhl, my dead grandma could have skated faster than that, zero attempt to clear the puck from his own crease and then immediately complains to referee that it’s not fair. That’s your shitty captain, good luck!!! Go Canes Go!!!! Woooooo!

  6. Imagine being a Kings fan watching there last game against the kraken…. Yeah. 30 seconds left in the third with a 2-1 lead aaaaaand we blowwwww it. And then lose in overtime. Just a spectacular time

  7. You have 7.5mil defenceman in your roster. Maybe he should start moving some pucks? And any news on Tanev? He was skating and looked fine few days ago.

  8. Who's the guy that controls who goes out and defends leads at the end of the game? maybe he should try coaching and put the best players out for the job instead of having willy out there? Better yet just fire the dumbass

  9. the TORONTO ICE PANDAS were true to their colours. why would they continue to use sticky sticky melander when trying to prevent a goal with a minute to go. it's either pure stupidity or a penchant for suicide. that sticky sticky combined with the little leg lift was disgusting. and ugly moustache is getting famous for turning the puck over in ot. after they actually looked half-assed good against tampa, the same ole Pandas are an embarassing lot!

  10. Matthews is the Freiza of the NHL, never had to try hard, relies on pure talent, too cool for school attitude.

McDavid and MacKinnon have Goku/Vegeta level compete

  11. Sorry for your loss. As a Canucks fan losing games and good players is the norm. Waiting here for the moment Quinn Hughes gets traded and unfortunately, hopefully by the Sharks. All I want for Christmas is new ownership.

  12. I think the biggest problem in current Toronto era is the "rush". It feels like there is some rush to be something. Maybe it is because the lack of winning in playoffs or something. I'm a finnish hockey fan and don't have any ties to Toronto. I mean i love Komarov, Kapanen was fine but this year i really thought Macelli was one for redemption year. Small guy but VERY smart and good playmaker. But i have also watched how my "FIN" teams do things. Like Dallas, Carolina, Florida and Nashville. All these teams might have losing streaks but none of them seems to panic with their roster. 3 losses…ok maybe change one winger from 1 to second line. Power play doesn't work? Ok maybe change one person or switch some positions. Always just small adjustments and plenty of games to see how it works in long run.

But this is different in Toronto. One bad game (or just period or shift) you are out. Lines might be totally different between periods. Someone might be sitting one game and then be first line winger in the next. There is no sustained periods of time for any lines. When this "turn around"" started your 3rd line was fantastic. Joshua. Macmann, Roy. Did one of them get injured or why did they brake it up? Every single game the lines are different and it is not because someone was hurt. If you are very smart and effective playmaker how do you build up chemistry to youir line mates if you are in different line every night? Ofc Macelli is failing…ofc Domi was failing. How can they build up confidence and chemistry with anyone if the "anyone" is different every night?

Maybe if Domi was with Mathews from the start, Macelli was in second line the whole time. Maybe if those core 4 was divided in 2 power plays from the beginning….maybe things would be different. But one thing is certain. You can't build up chemistry with anyone if the "anyone" is different person every game.

When Maccelli had that 57 point season in Arizona couple years ago it was in that very young 3rd line. All were young players but they played together the whole time. He had 49 points in hes rookie season…is same line with same people. Last year he was injured a lot and was tossed around the lineup. Poor season for him. If he had like 10-20 games in Toronto in first/second line i think he would be on the way to top hes previous records. He is a playmaker and smart. Small yeah and not the best in defence but with scorers like Nylander, Tavares, Mathews and Knies…easily 60+ player if given the chance. But no. Didn't score in first 3 games, team was losing, no one succeeded so lets play RNG on whole team every game and hope for the best.

Maybe the players are not the problem. Maybe media and fans are actually the problem. Not because they suck or are right/wrong but because they have not won. Maybe the pressure comes from not winning while being the biggest market. Maybe coaches there are more pressured to make hasted decisions because they don't want to answer to media? Or their superiors?

I don't know. It is just wild to see how in every Kipper podcast they analyze the lines in morning skate even if no one got hurt in the last game. THE LINES SHOULD BE THE SAME!!! I understand if center is injured then someone should go from 3rd to 2nd etc. But if in Totonto someone like Nylander is hurt then the WHOLE lineup is in RNG machine 😀 Just like the Laughton injury at the start of the season. Just put Kampf there and done. But no. This is Toronto and if someone is missing we need to shuffle the whole thing. I don't think there is another team in NHL that is this reactive to small things.

  13. I'm sorry, I like Reaves, but his beef with the Leafs is just pure sour grapes. He wasn't good enough to be in the top 12 of a division winning team last year, which is why he's the 12th forward of a rebuilding team this year.

  14. The fluke Cup run based on Binnington suddenly becoming a goalie he has never been any other time was the only example of adequate coaching by Berube in his career. Dude is a bad coach who ruins players. Leafs signed Babcock 2.0 and are surprised the offensive-minded core is unhappy.

  15. Steve, try being 1-12 for games at home. Only win was against Utah, and I paid for game 5 playoff tickets against Florida…

  16. 3:12 Noting how laughable David Kampf being the 2C for the Leafs last New Years Eve is haunting as a Canucks fan, given he was our FIRST LINE CENTER last game

  17. I disaree, everyone doesnt "get up" to play the Leafs. Ex-Leaf players "get up" to play the Leafs. Also, players that are from the GTA "get-up" to play in Toronto because they're are from the area and usually have family at the games.
Just because Leafs have some theoretical value that's higher than every other team- that doesnt make them special.

  18. Every player has to do 2 on 1 drills until they all get it
Rielly you get to do it until you can't do any more!!
    Goaltender takes the shooter
The defensive player takes the open man while staying the middle as long as possible preventing a pass while forcing a shot.
Not how they continue to do it wrong .
If they need a visual reference show them how a guy who wore # 21 as a leaf from Sweden maybe Park ? Robertson?
Give both Goaltenders a lot of credit the score could have higher for sure ! They got a point

  19. Maybe guys like 19,and 89 shouldn’t be deer in F’in headlights when they have point blank chances!! Maybe 88 and 34 should have an actual plan in OT.. maybe 44 should learn how to play D? Maybe we should watch the Jets, Canadiens power play and learn something!!!

  20. Saturday defenseman
    Stecher McCabe
    Benoit Myers
Rielly oh wait Dumba off waivers Benning Rafi ?? Vellenuve um nothing to lose .
    Stecher on PP and PK
