The New York Islanders score a commanding 5-2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks, but Bo Horvat’s alarming injury threatens to shake the team’s season. Can the Islanders maintain their momentum if their leading goal scorer is sidelined long-term?

The episode examines the “hold your breath moment” surrounding Horvat’s status, discusses the power play’s resurgence, and analyzes Matthew Darche’s roster options if Horvat misses time. 1. If this is a long term injury then that’s just one critical injury too many to overcome this season. It will be time to trade off older pieces and let the young guys develop. Roy said DTD but who knows if he is telling the truth or not, or if they really know. One thing about this game is they need to stop making mistakes that lead to goals for opponents. Make them work for goals! When it was 3-2 I was saying to myself this game should be long over like 6-1 or something. Then while still 3-2 I’m seeing DeAngelo pinch and allow a good scoring opportunity the other way. They need to have more discipline. That being said I love how the 4th line is playing.

  2. Not much to say except for that this was a bittersweet win. I just wish the NHL would provide specific injury updates instead of cryptic upper, and lower body injury

  3. Hi GIL HOPE Bo Horvat isn’t out to long happy to see Holstrom and Lee step up!! And it seems like our goalie Ricci gets wins easier than Sorokin does for some reason ? ,🤷 if you could let me know if you’re planning to go to a game thanks

  4. Roy said day to day. Hope he's right (fingers crossed). If it's a groin, like everyone seems to expect, it could be longer.

  5. I hope Horvat isn't put. I would ❤ to see another Islander achieve 50 goals. When was last time Palffy? These Isles are different O even noticed Rotchie a rookie being on top of picking up the puck for Mitchell's 1st goal. That's character. Lee increasing his trade vakue.

  6. The Islanders remaining schedule is the easiest, or one of the easiest, in the league. Considering how they have played against teams with lesser records this season, is that a good thing or bad thing? As much as I think Darche knows what the right thing to do is, I also wonder if the owners will allow him to do it? Namely trading the players on expiring contracts at the deadline. In no way should the owners look to Lou for his opinion on this. If they do, I would resign immediately if I were Darche. This is how the hiring of Darche and all the good things that has happened goes wrong in an instant. Let Darche do his job, let Lou catch up on his sleep. The only thing that would validate the owners making that decision would be a fifth cup this season. we shall see. I hope all I have said here about the owners couldn’t be more wrong, LGI!!!!

  7. Great game by Lee. 2 goals, 2 assists takes me back to the numbers you'd see by goal scorers of yore.

  8. If Lee leaves via trade or free agency at the end of the year, Horvat is the next captain, for sure.

  9. Great team effort again, looked like they could of broken this game wide open in the 2nd period. Great efforts from Lee, Holmstrom, Rittich, and Gatcomb etc. Lets hope and pray Bo is not out too long. LGI

  10. I don’t see people talking shit about Tony D anymore. How’s that Ramonov contract looking Lou haters.

  11. First have to give a Big Shout out to Brandon Bussi of Long Island 🏝️ first goalie in NHL history to win 10 of his first 11 appearances in the League! Hats 🎩 off! He was a Junior islander!!!! Apparently Lou had is eyes 👀 shut to local talent! Boo 👻 😢😢😢 Amazing Story! If The Canes win the Cup Bussi could finally be the goalie who wins it for them. Hat 🎩 s off to The Islanders for their continued hard work even after our goal leader went down. Look at Duke what happened to his groin yikes 😱 pray Horvat’s can opener is not as serious as it looked. 🙏 . We need all the wins we can get if we are going to truly contend. Our Glut of Centers will be put to the test . Bo can’t be replaced and certainly not going to trade for a center. This is the opportunity for Ritchie to be given a chance at 2 C! Moving Barzal to 1 . This affords Ritchie to be winged by more talented players which should elevate Ritchie’s game. This certainly will be challenging and players will have to elevate to get goals from different players more consistently. It will not be easy but the team will have to step up.

  12. Good 🌞, Gil. How are you? The Islanders won a great game against the 🦆; however, it was an expensive win because it may have cost them Bo Horvat for a lengthy period of time. The Islanders scored early and often. Anders Lee had 4 points on the 🌃. For now, Patrick Roy said it's on a day to day basis right now, I HOPE HE'S RIGHT! David Rittich played a solid game in goal. What happened to Horvat was a straight up collision. This will make Patrick Roy shuffling his lines like ♟️ pieces again. He was on pace to join Boss, Trots, Lafontaine, and Turgeon as a member of the Islander 50 goal club. Like I said, Anders Lee led the game with 4 points
JG Pageou played a great game, Ryan Pollach played well, too. They played the 🌩️ tomorrow afternoon. They're also going
to retire Pat Lafontaine's #16 also. HAPPY 🎂, Smitty. The only goalie who protected his "SPOT" THE BEST WAY HE KNEW HOW. He made 22 saves in a playoff win against the Blackhawks. In his early years, there was a banner that said MOST GOALIES CUT DOWN ANGLES, SMITH CUTS DOWN ANKLES. Hear from you later, Gil, but before I go, I compared Kyle Okposo to a Character from The Godfather and Yellowstone. He's Rip Wheeler. and Tom Hagen. They're both smart, strategic, and loyal. They're both FIERCELY PROTECTIVE OF THE PEOPLE THEY CARE ABOUT. Now, LET'S GO ISLANDERS.
