In this episode, host Phil Osaer (Director of Athlete Development at Suburban Sports Group and former NHL scout) sits down with Cam Fowler, veteran NHL defenseman with the St. Louis Blues.
Selected 12th overall by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Fowler spent the first 15 seasons of his career in Anaheim. Last season, the 33-year-old reached the 1,000-game milestone during the NHL Winter Classic. More recently, on September 27, 2025, the Farmington Hills, Mich., native signed a three-year contract extension with the Blues.
Together they dive into:
• The evolution of Cam’s training and how his approach has changed over time
• Nutritional adjustments and lessons learned from years in the league
• His path to the NHL and what it was like debuting at just 18 years old
• The mental performance tools that helped him stay consistent and grounded
• The excitement of a fresh start in St. Louis and the mindset behind embracing change
Cam’s story is one of growth, discipline, and continual evolution on and off the ice. Whether you’re an athlete, coach, or parent, this episode offers valuable perspective on how the game (and the person behind it) continues to evolve at the highest level.
