Xhekaj has skills, he needs to be allowed to make decisions and believe in himself. He's not an average guy, he's definitely very important to this team.
Should we not look at replacing the goalie coach? It seems obvious IMO
They just need to have Fowler makes some saves. No to be a saviour. I do agree with Marco in there are defensive issues but the goalies are not even making routine saves. That’s all they need Fowler to do, make the routine saves
I would love to see the Habs bring the AHL coach up to assistant coach with St-Louis. It’s time to bring some experience help and a different view on how to manage the bench and systems help. Let’s make a bold move.
Great show as always les boys! Thanks for telling it like it is👊🏼
Habs scout stated – Fowler not only has the tools, he has the mental side already as well to utilize those tools.
What makes a 25 year old more mentally ready then a 22 year old. If he's ready you don't have to wait until he's 23 .
Time to change Goalie and Defensive coach
LOL love the heading Montreal Canadiens DID NOT make a panic move 🤣😆 hmmm what did they do then LOL, I mean they have been on a downward slide for weeks and during this slide they have been blasted, crushed, and humiliated with 6, 7, and 8 goal games against them. How do you call up 3 players from the AHL including Fowler and say they're not making a panic move. The goaltending has been horrible, no no it's been flat out disgusting and you bring up Fowler just because you wanted to bring him up and try him out?? LOL no they brought him up because they're in PANIC MODE, they need help and desperately because the current goaltending duo is not cutting it
I have wondered when MSL reaches his coaching ceiling. He was the perfect coach for young players coming into the league BUT, his ideas on the defensive structure has been abysmal for two years. Watching the Lightening game Tampa looked like defensive specialist compared to the Habs. If the Habs don't have the right players to play the hybrid defense system, shouldn't they change to a system that your players can play?
Habs need to developp a good 4th line in Laval so they can all 3 when ready go joing the habs then Habs will have a solid 4th line.
right now laval team plays better than the habs maybe demodov could help laval ?? get better time on ice .
the Habs have been a huge disappointment this season. There was high expectations that they could improve upon last year's performance, but so far they have disappointed. And it has started in goal. I've been saying it all along. Monte is not a #1 goaltender. Never has been, never will be.
but ghuli is out for months yet? so stubble should have played the body on Point.but it is what it is
how many habs are playing injured right now? Carrier must be with all the big hits he has taken ever since washington last season.???the most hit player in the league imagine that? that is a planned agenda when teams play the habs
why not bring Dauphin with the habs?
Blais should be in MTL they need some grit.
and number 63 in laval could play in Mtl
Well 3 goalis down one to go!
Not even Patrick Roy would survive this!
HAB need experience help on coaching staff because as is now they are one of worst in NHL! A decent team with good coaches will destroy this team every time!!!
I was at tuesday nights game! Completely agree Arber was creating offensively and physical. By far most noticeable Dman. If he can build off this super exciting.
It's good to see that Arber is looking more solid in his defense on the ice as there was some doubt on how good he can get. Expensive bottom six with Anderson and Gallagher. Will not be surprised if one of them gets bought out after the Cup Final this season.
I understand injuries and everything. But at the price he signed…Joel Armia was a no brainer for 2 years.
Does arber have a bomb 💣 from the point. We need a hard shooting defenseman from the point
Other thing that happened around the Carrier trade was Patrick Laine's comeback which transformed the powerplay.
Did anyone think Thorpe was impressive in throwing his weight around in the pre season
Marty sitting Xhekaj is such a typical idiot move from him. If you're Quartexx or dating the GM's daughter, you get away with everything. Gorton rebuilding the same soft team he had in NYR.
Most of the players have seen Fowler in Laval and know he is better than what they have on the big team.
Kiefer Sherwood
Veleno can not be leading the team in hits on a nightly basis. I mean good for Joe but not necessarily screaming tough to play against as a team…
didn't Carey price not also start against Pittsburg?
You guys use logic with Arber, for Marty to bench him xD.
Habs need to get away from playing man-on-man, which just makes the goaltending situation worse. St. Louis needs to look in the mirror.
Of course it's a panic move. Just ask yourself this, if Dobes and Montambeau are playing well, would Fowler be called up? And the honest answer would be NO.
Ask the question who has a better coaching staff Laval or the Habs the answer is Laval
Why is Arber sitting out over struble or even Carrier
I love seeing Xhekaj's improvement. We all know his story, he seems like he really wants it…
We'll know they're really panicking if they call up Reinbacher. There's a clear plan for him to cook all season in Laval and no reason to recall him unless they're completely out of options.
I think Fowler comes in, steals the net right off the hop and plays more games to end the season than any other goalie on this roster. I also think he’s good enough to take them into the playoffs. He has the mentality to do it and he is ready for the NHL.
I think they made the playoffs one year too early. The expectations just don't match where this team is in the rebuild. The idea that this team is a 2C from competing is not realistic.
Bring up the roster to the max allowed. If you don't want to sit, perform better. Bring up Blais at the very least.
100% spot on Marco !
I agree it's not the goaltending itself that's the main problem, it's our defensive structure as a team that has hurt us among other key things like missing players from last year ( Savard , Dvorak , Armia ) that gave balance, experience, and locker room presence for tutoring the younger players.
I hope Fowler has a short but successful stint with the big club and goes back to Laval with mass confidence and plays his ass off and with that the goaltending tandem now will improve along with the team in front of them , remember there's 3 forwards and 2 defense to beat to get to a goalie.
If I have to be like some fanatic fans and could do one trade now to help the team I probably wouldn't but if so it would be for Parayko/ Schenn from St. Louis…size , stability, big presence in front of the net and a top/ middle six center that is versatile throughout the lineup and has some jam to his game , you're probably not going to get that from a 21 yr old call-up in most situations. It may cost a Beck / Engstrom, or a Struble and something else but it wouldn't break the bank and we would still have our plethora of draft capital and prospects still evolving in the system and beyond , just my take on things, hopefully it doesn't come to all of this, patience is the best medicine
Patrick Roy also debuted vs Pittsburgh
The next goalie to be ruined by the Montreal Canadiens?
They need to keep Arbor where he is, he's a solid guy where he is. I really think they need to play Engstrom with Hutson. As much as I like the potential of Struble with Hutson and how they can/could pair for the future. There's a higher potential upside with Engstrom and Hutson. That could potentially be a solid top four pairing long term for the future (especially because they both have the ability to play both sides)
I’m not asking for 7 Cups….just one…..for now. 😂
Hopefully GUHLE and Reinbacher can get healthy and stabilize our D.
Not sure what to say about our offense. I’m too perplexed still.
Had the habs missed the playoffs last year we would consider this team on par for where they should be in the rebuild… that little taste of beginning the season hot has us feeling like the team is going backward
I know most will disagree with me, but I say give Dobes the net, quit pulling him at the first signs of problems. He is looking over his shoulder, he needs to be the Number one. Monty is done, let Dobes relax , and lets see what happens.
Thank you for stating a fact, on the subject of overthinking. great catch.
Hughes has got a guy maybe 2 in mind and he's just working that ! A center changes everything the slav move proved it , kapanen couldn't play with slav and demidov and they still produced to a degree ! This would also solve alot of bottom 6 issue's short term , competition would be fierce especially when the injured returned ! This is what a real 2nd line center does for a team !!
