That means contact to the head was avoidable, therefore according to the nhl rulebook its a head contact penalty. So im confused as the statements contradict each other
Trouba had been gliding backwards, turned to glide into Leonard and never took a single stride prior to the hit. This was as clean of a hit as there are.
I don't know, man. Given Trouba is leading with his shoulder, and the blood pouring out of Leonard's mouth and nose afterwards, I think there's enough to say the head was a main point of contact
In anycase, 21.1 exists, there is history of this crap, and it isn't like Trouba is making any attempt at anything other than an injury
It's clean. Too bad Leonard got hurt, but you can't take these types of hits out of the game. We're always told from the time you first hit the ice as a kid "Keep your head up!!!"
I watched this back, and I don't really get why ppl say it's a clean hit if it seems to be head contact? Not shown in this clip, but Leonard got up from the ice with blood streaming from his nose/mouth so how how does that happen without contact to the face?

Not technically illegal but highly dangerous is the exact same bologna DoPs used to suspend Wilson at least once.
