The Winnipeg Jets have to get Younger

The Winnipeg Jets were once a team that drafted and developed their prospects extremely efficiently. Now, we’re lucky if we see more than a couple players become regulars on the team in a 5 year span.

Instead of filling holes internally, the Jets have elected to fill them with aging veterans that are well past their prime. Winnipeg needs to trust their younger players, and put them in a position to succeed if the Jets want to succeed themselves.

  1. If we’re already doing bad, I don’t understand why we’re not playing the young guns let them develop

  2. I find it super frustrating that either Chevy or Arniel have no faith in our young guys whatsoever. All they’re doing is ruining the good reputation we’ve built over the last few years, and sinking the team in standings. The worst possible thing for this team would be to make the playoffs this year because A: we’ll get another mid draft pick in a loaded draft class, and B: we’re just going to get blown out of the water by literally ANY team that would make the playoffs this year. I’d also much rather watch this team tank with our young guys giving their best effort instead of watching the retirement home get their asses handed to them night in and night out. It’s time to move on, but management is stuck in the 2010s.

  3. Jets need to bring in youth lambert Parker and a few more guys to the Fourth line or third line line the Pearson toews and schien experience is not working

  4. I'm still pissed they let Kovacevic go and instead went the usual way with guys like Stanley and Schenn

  5. Spot on 'ma buddy !!
You nailed it with this vid.
Chippy & Chevy have been trying to buy the 'core' a Cup since 2018 – rejecting the draft n develop strategy that worked for a small market club.
No upward trajectory for prospects !!

  6. I’m not sure Rutger’s view of where he is at is the same as where NHL coaches view of him. On a retooling Penguins team he has played four games this year, averaging a whopping 12 minutes.
