This is why Gudas is the captain right now owning up when things go bad is something a leader should always have. The capitals game is going to be tough but hopefully they get themselves back on track.
They'll bounce back, and though games aren't just on a goalie Husso doing fine. I'm sure this played into it. Hopefully this will put some fire into them, so their game against The Capitals is impeccable.
I also think the condensed schedule might be catching up for not just the Ducks, but everyone. I think the teams with older players are managing their play perhaps better for future weeks as to where the young teams like the Ducks and Sharks started the year with so much fire, and heat. The condensed schedule hurting the Ducks also because new coach, and not a ton of time between games to practice and work on where things went wrong.
I trust they'll bounce back.
I hope the boys can bounce back but with recent performances in mind I am having a hard time believing we will hold a playoff spot with all the other teams making huge strides to make the playoffs.
The next 2 games will decide how this really goes, Capitals and Blackhawks again. It’s not hopeful though!
The “doom and gloom” comments are dumbfounding. This team is going to be fine. We lost our 1 & 2 goaltenders! 🤣 However, Vatrano and Strome (and our D) need to figure it out. We can’t keep riding the backs of Leo, Cutter, and Beckett…and hoping we can keep scoring 4 goals a game. It’s obvious how important Dostal has been. That was a huge loss.
I actually feel bad for Washington. I have a feeling it’s gonna be a very physical, “pissed off” sort of contest coming from the Ducks. Good learning lesson…moving forward.
If we don't get a competent backup tender soon we will be in trouble. Over the next 2 weeks we have 8 games against teams that include the Caps, Hawks, Pens, Devils, and Stars. This is a dangerous stretch!
