Lots to like with this team. You wouldn't see all the good if you were thinking rebuild.
Management made a big mistake hiring an inexperienced head coach for this team period, but not sure who else they could have brought to Vancouver especially after last year's drama! Being in last place things will have to change somehow and usually its firing the heard coach?!

Management made a series of decisions that have lead to this result. A lot of these consequences were easily predictable (sadly).
They do not deserve another chance.
1. Alvin is fired in the New Year.
2. Rutherford is Interim GM and announces he will not extend his contract. (he will parley owners wishes during sell off, can do a Pitsburgh walk away)
3. Foote should be fired and replaced with a disgraced NHL coach with a sore spot to prove wrong. (Coach Q in ducks example, Id take Boudreau round 2, we need a lotto ticket coach)
4. Any player who doesn't turn it around with the coach change is gone, OUT of the team. Goodbye. Take lotto tickets and plan next year.
Let the interim coach walk in the offseason, hire Rebuild GM and promote Manny for the rebuild. If Manny doesn't want it, extend interim coach 2 year or let New GM decide.
If they stick to that, there is hope for a good start next year and convince Hughes to stay to the new plan. Why would this guy believe a line out of the current Mngmt?
