I'm seriously sick of it all. We need some trade action before the roster freeze Xmas break. No impactful trades have been happening when it is historically part of the culture. No big free agents next summer. Trade DUDline instead of the trade deadline. Lame NHL. Need some player movement.
Tell it like it is, they had many years to build the arena and get this built for the Olympics. Politician's were putting money in their pockets and don't care
As a flames fan I just want to say… they've got to hop on these trades before other teams fill their roster holes.

if they even try to get Hughes Detroit better be able to do a contract extension with him or it is not even worth getting him because Detroit will be screwed out of good players and draft picks if he decides to leave after the remaining 2 years of his current contract is up.

I really dont understand why Philly or Detroit would give up major assets for a rental IF he wants to go to NJ. He seems annoyed with management in Vancouver. I also don’t totally understand what real leverage Vancouver has. That’s why I think the flyers and red wings are “in the mix”.
It would make sense to me for them to get a decent haul from NJ now. Theyre not getting a hischier or Bratt though. Nemec seems unlikely because that would screw up the current roster.
My guess would be a 1st, 2nd and casey. Something along those lines.

Hughes selling his place in BC was a brilliant idea and good timing. Now people can't give away their property in Richmond BC.

I think the NHL should definitely seek another arena for the Olympic Games. If the builders can't have it built on schedule can they have it built right? A European arena I would think would be a logical replacement site.
As a Red Wings fan and a hockey fan don't get me wrong Hughes is awesome but after years of 'trust the process' from Yzerman and then starting to see the fruits of his labour, simply makes no sense to watch all those rookies tossed for what could only be 1 year of Quinn. Too much loss for the future. Doesn't even guarantee a Stanley Cup.
