Morgan Geekie is on pace for 40 goals this year, but can he keep it up? In this video, I take a deep dive into the numbers and analytics of Morgan Geekie’s play and try to answer that question.

Impressed with his ability to find the soft spots in the d coverage. That bodes well for sustainability. No matter what B's are playing with house money, even if he "regresses" to a 20 goal scorer rate. Even more impressive is how he's kept it up without Pastrnak.
Geekie at 5.5 by 6 is such a steal. Take the goals away, you still have a very versatile, hard working player who is solid defensively.
I think they should let Geekie be Geekie. He has the talent and know how to make it happen. Just let the guy shine.
This guy's done nothing but improve his numbers every year since being drafted twice by Ron Francis……..his numbers are legit, it's time to move on with all the brain racking as to why this is happening……
With a 5.5 yr contract and the cap going up this contract really is an embarrassment for his agent 3rd 4th liners make 5 a yr.
One undefined metric is confidence. Obviously Geekie confidence level should be sky high based on his production. If he can retain that confidence as bounces dont go his way, he's an annual 30 goal scorer for the Bs
Unlike Pasta, Geekie doesn't have an 'office'. He gets his goals from everywhere. I don't think he's a one-off. I know my opinion is based more on hope than fact but this is almost how Pasta started out.
Hes playing great building confidence hopefully this continues next couple years .think you nailed it stability structure something this team needs to build on with future talent .but confidence is a key an he looks like hes more confident have great week
He still seems to be 'on the up' as a goal scorer. It all seems to be clicking for him at this point in his career. If you're saying he might average out to 30-40 GPY, I think we'd all take that. Pasta scored 61 a couple of years back. He hasn't done it again due to circumstance, but he's certainly still capable of scoring 60 again. Hell, Pasta could get 70 with Hagens feeding him.
What really impresses, is how he plays now that Pasta is injured. he's handling his opportunities, running with chances, and developing into an amazing secondary/top scorer.
I am loving his play away from the puck as well.
Kraken must be kicking themselves in the squid 🐙 – they deserve it!
that's what Seattle gets for firing a professional athlete via Twitter. Not telling him to his face.
Since Geeky was already disrespected by one franchise, let's not repeat the same.
The Best Is yet to come – he's only 27.
He's surprised the hockey World, especially fair weather Bruins fans who were looking to trade him a year ago –
So, since pretty much everyone got this wrong, how is it they can even attempt to predict his future and
👉 put a ceiling on him now?!?
Why now? because he's the highest bird in the sky and easiest to take down?
His current shot percentage does not project his future average SPG
He's coachable, surging – he'll learn to take more shots per game.
He can sustain 40+ goals for the next few seasons with a lower shot percentage. He just needs to shoot more often.
That can be fixed.
We're not asking a three-legged dog to run a four-legged dog race.
Obviously he's a work in progress.
I wouldn't go anywhere near putting a ceiling on him quite yet – he's in his prime.
👉 Still surging.
All he has to do is shoot more shots per game, who cares if his shot percentage decreases?
It's all about production –
This signing is certainly a feather in Sweeney's cap.
Bold prediction: Geekie leads the Bruins in goals this year and gets 45+. Next year he gets 40+ as well.
Too bad we can't clone this guy eh.
What a find….what a Bruin.
Hopefully he will be one for many years to come.
Man, I am luvin' this team. Go BRUINS.
Great video as always I'm hoping for 60 goals this year
What do you think Geekie's total will be this year?
His shooting % is due to regress. Fact.
I think even if he crashes back into the earths crust, he hits 40 this year. I wouldn’t rule out 50 if he keeps playing the way he is. It’s interesting because the more I watch Geekie and zero in on him during the game, the more I see the abilities and habits that make him a legitimate NHL goal scorer. I understand that his 60 goal pace is almost certainly unsustainable, but he maintained a shooting percentage in the mid 20s for an entire year. So all things combined I think he can be a perennial 30+ guy, and I think he is a legit breakout player.
Put him on team canada rn
If you have followed his progression over the past 2 years, you can see that this season is a natural progression in his development as an NHL goal scorer. I don't know what he worked on this past season but it has a had a very positive impact on his overall game. His vision on the ice is top notch and his shots seem to have seeing eyes. I think he is going to eclipse the 40 goal mark this year. I appreciate that other teams will focus on him to minimize his impact but most of his goals have been this year at even strength with defenses keying on him. The Kraken must be kicking themselves for having let him go to free agency.
Your thorough consideration of all relevant factors and analysis is top notch. Really impressive! Do you use notes or a written script on-screen while speaking in your videos, or just keep everything in your head (which would be crazy)? (It seems in other videos you were speaking extemporaneously, but this in-depth look at whether Geekie can continue his scoring seems way too complex for that.)
His 5,5 million a year thru 2031 is a steal, even if he goes to 20 – 25 goals a year. This is a steal with salary cap growing over the next few years…
