This is why fans say the NHL is rigged

We need to talk about some nonsense from today’s New York Rangers vs Vegas Golden Knights game, while also taking a look at faceoffs… the Rangers, and more!

  1. The accidental flashing of what happens to be the final score happened a few years ago in the playoffs with the Florida Panthers in the last like minute of the game before they even ever scored the goal it flashed they took it down and literally the next luck drop Florida scores it

  2. All sports are now fixed. Pro and amateur. sports betting is a billion dollar industry. They’re not letting that go to chance.

  3. All sports are rigged its a business everyone that owns a business wants it to benefit the business and they will do anything for a certainty of an outcome that allows most profits period i no longer even watch sports i play em every weekend tho

  4. For me it's just the missed tripping call. Really no excuse to miss that one. Center ice and all officials are watching the play. I remember another issue in the playoffs two years ago with the Canes where "Canes Win" flashed on the boards for a few seconds. They Rangers actually won that game, but I was worried…lol.

  5. I'm sorry but… that's a Trip… get my mans a passport or something.

But other than that, clean game.

  6. Professional Sports sold out to the gambling industry so they could create a new, much more profitable entity together called 'Sports Entertainment'. Athletes no longer get paid to compete, they get paid to perform. Same model as 'Wrestling Entertainment'. For some it's obvious, for others, they will sense it, but will never allow themselves to believe it.

  7. Partnering with Caesars, BetMGM, FanDuel , Draft Kings and Poly market. Why would someone not do it? Notice how much "worse" calls have gotten in the last 3-4y, as online gambling rapidly proliferated… I'm 98% sure refs or idiots in Toronto are betting and winning.

  8. It always amazes me that there are fans who think the league is rigged when their team loses but when their team wins then the league is never rigged. Reality check people the game isn’t rigged. Every game has bad calls on both sides. Shit happens get a life if you want to have better reffing then do it yourselves since yall act as if you can do it better. And another thing if your team has to rely on the refs to win then your team sucks and has no business ever winning a game.

  9. What are we looking at here? What are you talking about, what's happening and why is the coach so pissed off? Explain yourself! What are you alluding to? What are you pointing to? Jesus man!

  10. There have been so many very egregious no-calls this season that genuinely have me losing it. Gambling ruins everything it touches, and i really would not be surprised if there is some funny business going on. Refs in this league need to all be fired and have a new batch brought in cuz these same guys are making the same "mistakes" over and over and over. Like… there needs to be some consequences for refs who make lazy no-calls because theyre getting less and less reliable. Reffing is in a spot where they dont even need to pay attention to the game because nobody is allowed to call them out

  11. The NFL, and NBA are most definitely fixed. Baseball is to some degree. Mainly with umpires making insanely bad strike and ball calls. And, all these betting sites, are owned lock stock and barrel by organized crime.

  12. You want to talk about rigged officiating? Try being a fan of Toronto professional teams.

When I was a ref I would issue warnings when I saw players starting to test the rules. Most of the time it worked to settle things down. Consistency in officiating is very important in allowing the players to know where the line is and in making calls.

As a linesman, I tried to make my puck drop at the faceoff a surprise to both players. None of this hanging it there and making them edgy to go. As soon as both players had their sticks in position I slammed the puck to the ice, not a leisurely gravity free fall.

  13. if penalties were called properly all game it would have ended 5-2 knights.. easy to point fingers at one play lol

  14. All professional sports are rigged

It’s just a distraction wake the fuck up people

They why are you distracted so you’re not paying attention to what’s going on and how they’re stealing our freedoms from us but if you want to keep on watching fucking sports go for it

  15. taking both guys = good
    redoing that faceoff = good
missing that trip = not good…BUT the NHL has pushed refs to call mainly penalties in scoring opportunities, so I can understand the hesitation to call it… (I however would have called it in beer league LoL )

  16. I knew it was rigged the moment I saw the refs choose not to call the same penalty they called on Bouchard, but not on tkachuk in the Stanley cup finals

  17. It's ironic that I never gave ANY creedance to the NFL being rigged until another Las Vegas team's game yesterday also. I guess if they literally have "Las Vegas" in the name, I shouldn't be surprised about some shady play that most certainly seems gambling related. Dave Portnoy definitely has a point about yesterday's Raider's game.

  18. I don't think it's intentional by the refs, but I definitely think they get more scrutiny when making calls against certain teams. We've seen refs sanctioned for making bad calls against Vegas while getting away with far worse calls against other teams, so it's not surprising that refs have learned to be generous to Vegas at the expense of most other teams.

  19. NHL isn't rigged but how the referees make calls is. Unfortunately, there's a human element to the refereeing where they don't want to "influence" the game. By trying to make the game "even" they'll let calls go or make questionable calls. They likely didn't want to hand the rangers a win by making that call, it also looked a little like a dive. This issue is what gives teams like the Panthers an advantage, they'll do things that could be penalties all game setting picks, cross checks, dirty plays and the refs simply can't call it all….they'll call a couple and then they'll call soft penalties on the other team to "even" it out.

To speak plainly teams like Florida could be called for 10 penalties but take 3/4 whereas the other team could be called for 5 but take 3… It's an advantage for rats…. The refs would feel like they're influencing the game if they called 10 penalties so they let things go…and then they feel like they need to even it out putting the other team at a disadvantage in scrums/borderline plays.
