The Detroit Red Wings prospect pool just keeps getting better. Eddie Genborg, Max Plante, Jesse Kiiskinen, Brent Solomon, and Carter Bear are all trending up — and a few of them are looking like massive draft-day steals for Steve Yzerman.

The Wings have enough capital to pry Hughes from the Canucks. How about Danielson, Kasper, next year’s first and an A level prospect.

All bottom 6 NHL forwards IF they make it to the NHL at all.
Taro Hirose put up 50 points (15-35) his last season at MSU and look how he turned out. He was also an inch shorter and weighed probably15 pounds less than Plante. Tough to project NCAA prospects beyond those drafted early in the first round, so I'll hold judgement until he plays pro.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Lombardi can do. Not sure who would fill in the C for GR but Lombardi is a PPG in the AHL. He could EASILY replace Compher or Copp.
Amadeus Lombardi is a PPG guy in the AHL and might have a winged wheel future as well as perhaps Wallinder or Buium. Of the prospects in the system if Yzerman hits on 3 of them as NHL players I think that's a solid win.
Plante and Solomon are exciting picks. AHL next year?
While many players in the juniors or NCAA go on to have great NHL careers, they will have to make a tough adjustment when they go from just playing others their age to playing against fully-experienced men. The last two prospects won't have to make that adjustment because they are already playing in men's leagues.
Of course a 20ish player isn't going to dominate a men's league like many dominate junior or NCAA teams. One must account for this when comparing stats between the different prospects.
