The Canes broadcast said they played 3 games in 4 days. I would highly assume this was a factor in the game.

This was the final time the Canes and Sharks played this season and it was a tie on the season series. The winner of next seasons series should get to lift Brent Burns over their heads like a trophy after the game. Ray Whitney was an all star level player the sharks fired him off the team. One of the biggest blunders in sharks history. Irbe was the Sharks first most famous goalie. Did not know he played 5 years on the Canes.

First victory vs Carolina since 2021. I thought the team defense looked real solid in the first 2 periods. The 3rd period Carolina got a lot of chances and Ned stepped up big. Glad to see a 3 point game from Macklin
Canes, will win one, lose one 🙂 They could end up winning the division, but as usual won't go far in the playoffs. Won't make the Finals.

Canes fan: The Sharks look like a playoff-bound team: young, quick, good passing, good defense. The Canes, on the other hand looked old and slow and like they were just practicing. No sense of any playmaking–just passing around and taking long wristers. Things need to change or it will be a first-round exit for them. Again, congrats to the Sharks for a great game.
I believe the Canes were honouring the 20th anniversary of the '05-'06 Cup champs at this game, hence the nostalgia-fest in the commentary rather than paying attention to the game.
