  1. I was out tonight watching this garbage hockey game. Probably for the best I wasn't in chat for this postcast definitely wasn't in the mood lol. But listen I know we have injuries with Pinto, Eller & Chabot but that should be no excuse for losing this game. So many shots on net so many PP opportunities can't capatalize on any of them except for the last one of course where it's late in the game. Sens need to figure it out this was an embarassing loss for them and we drop in the standings cause of it.

  2. It is honestly going to be hard to make the playoffs especially with this team being in this position. Last year may have been a fluke.

  3. Special teams being atrocious, will make them miss the playoffs.

Team can’t finish and are playing on their heels when defending. Team needs a different coach at this point, Green won’t get you very far with his systems…

  4. Awful attendance on Sat Night, barely 16000 fans (looked more like 14000). This city doesn't deserve an NHL team.

  5. That game against the Blues was close although repeated shots on goal, over 40 if I’m not mistaken, weren’t enough to beat a not-great team. I have to wonder if the make up of this Sens roster is too much like that of the Canucks.

  6. Often the problem with a defensively oriented coach is that the offense gets stifled. The sens should be able to score more with the forwards they have, but something is preventing it. They need to go on a run soon or they'll be out of the playoff picture by Christmas 😢. Green should also have the penalty kill performing better if his specialty is defense.

  7. I didn't heat any boos in the building

Even before he got his (slick) assist, i mentioned how great The Disher was looking tonight. Was super cool to see him getting shifts late in the game. He seems to be getting more comfortable by the day

Last year's Canucks postcast was the worst. Between Martian being loaded and the Vancouver dude rubbing it in, i had to tap out about halfway through. Glad I didn't miss any panic button action!

  8. Guys, I have to stop you right there! Do not blame Dillon for his antics when there was seven seconds left in the game! The game was lost we could not score and his actions were not the result of anything. Do not say that Dillon lost his cool. The game was over. End of discussion.

  9. What are you talking about? There was seven seconds left. Come on.

Never mind, I’m done with this post cast. I disagree wholeheartedly with your assessment of where the game was lost. Hyper focussing on seven seconds.

  10. Are we ready to admit this simply isn’t a very good team? It’s ok. It’s decent sometimes. But more often than not they simply aren’t good enough. Maybe, MAYBE a fringe wildcard team on a good day. We have to be honest, they are so, so far away from any of the top ten teams in the league.

My one positive: Stephen Halliday looks like he might be a good lad.

  11. Tim Stutzle is not an elite center. He goes through far too many horrible stretches. He's been in the league 6 years and still acts like a rookie

  12. When do we start talking about bradys record with the team? We did great without him and going straight to the bottom of the league with him.

  13. “Is December the new November?” That’s exactly what I said 3 podcasts ago (check the logs, lol)

  14. Shut it off after the 3rd period scrum. Sum up this game: Stützle, 3rd period, puck possession with the puck in the slot, shoots it to safety in the corner. SMH

  15. The focus on the last 7 seconds is silly, Sens had sooo many chances to score and couldn't. Simular to last season they cant finish. Their special teams are below league average, goaltending hasn't been league average, etc. Stutzle has been looking foolish the last few games, needs to shoot, he is consistently over passing and its costing the sens goals

  16. Fellas, I’m sorry for the rant, but Travis Green’s comments worry me. Now, I know that he isn’t honest with the media and has to worry about his team’s confidence, but he can’t be happy with this game and obviously the answer is complicated. The team can’t score enough AND we have good scorers and we are scoring above expected goals. We’ve been lucks and still can’t score!

Green can’t coach offence. It is complicated and we know this because he said he didn’t spend time on it all last season. Why? Because it was too simple to integrate? No. It was too complicated for the team or for him.

Does it look like he coached it in the preseason? No. Does he explain where the offensive system is breaking down? No (be better, bear down, go to hard places). Did he know how to integrate offensive players? No. Spence gets benched, Zetterlund goes to the fourth line. Players who know how to score come here and learn how not to.

This is a real problem. The team relies too much on passing back to the D. Watch it on the PP and at 5 on 5. Team know this and crowd the D, leaving them with no time and space and risking high danger turnovers (thankfully Sandy erases a lot of these). The don’t work downlow and get pucks to the slot. They push it the point where most plays go to die.

I hope this turns around, but I don’t see anything in the last year that suggests it will. I’m glad we’ve been winning, but it’s always a close call.

Here’s a challenge, go over all the games this season and look for one where we dominated the other team. Not just one where we smothered them, but where we really took it to the other team. It’s tough to find.

I’m happy to have others weigh in, but I’m nervous.
