It never fails to amaze me. Ovechkin shoots right-handed. Both his sons shoot left-handed. I went through this with my own son. I shoot righty, he shoots lefty. I know it's a small, almost insignificant thing, but it still fascinates me how they (kids) will just naturally grip the stick and it doesn't always have anything to do with how their dad, or their coach, or even their favorite player holds his stick. Very cool to see. These kids have memories for the rest of their lives.
As a single mid 30s white guy this has to be the most proud Dad moment ever in my opinion. It’s not often you get to pregame warm-up with your hockey Dad.
Ovi is definitely a Capitals legend but when will the organization put themselves before the #8 show? More fanfare about each goal he scores than team wins or so it comes seems? The future starts when?
