Carolina Hurricanes Dominate New York Islanders 6-2: Game Recap and Highlights

The Carolina Hurricanes snapped their two-game losing streak with a dominant performance against the New York Islanders. Andrei Svechnikov and Logan Stankoven each had a goal and an assist, while Brandon Bussi made 26 saves. The Hurricanes’ offense was on fire, with Mike Reilly, Bradly Nadeau, Jordan Martinook, and Jackson Blake also finding the back of the net.
The Islanders, without star center Mathew Barzal due to a disciplinary healthy scratch, struggled to keep up. Simon Holmstron and Matthew Schaefer scored for the Islanders, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Hurricanes’ momentum.
Nadeau opened the scoring early, followed by Reilly’s short-handed goal. Carolina’s third goal came from a slick play by Svechnikov and Martinook. Schaefer pulled one back for the Islanders, but Blake extended the lead in the third period. Holmstron’s late goal was quickly answered by Svechnikov, and Stankoven sealed the deal with an empty-netter.
