  1. So off-ice he looks exceptionally checked out in media scrums and refuses to participate in any of the fun media things the Canucks do. On-ice he's extending his shifts for far longer than he should be on the ice, which is why he has multiple 30+ minute games already. It's not to the benefit to the team either bc the Canucks are 2-12 in games where Quinn plays 27+ minutes. He's just overexerting himself at that point which leads to him coasting during plays. His shot's regressed back to being a muffin and his shot selection is horrible, but he keeps looking off guys like Pettersson when he's primed for one timers. He's been almost a net negative on the power play at this point because he keeps trying to force plays by himself. His defensive play has gotten worse somehow and he's still bad at handling odd man rushes. It's baffling to see how much of a step back he's taken this season after he hit another gear last year.

And let's not forget that the Miller/Pettersson beef happened under his leadership. A lot of fans were really quick to absolve Quinn of any responsibility for that incident but he's literally the captain, part of his job is to not let things like that happen.

  2. Crazy how Vancouver as a city is pumping out talent the likes of Bedard and Celebrini, while the Canucks organization just keeps importing Europeans and Americans who couldn't give 2 shits other than the paycheck. Committing to petterson was so dumb. Guy is a snob also. Bummer

  3. I'm from Vancouver. This team desperately needs a rebuild. There is no young high end prospects and the team is terrible. Problem is ownership wants to stay competitive, and doesn't believe in a rebuild. This team will always be a fringe or non-playoff team. Quinn Hughes deserves better than this.

  4. Oh Nyquist, I don't know if we need to talk about this yet. But I'm gonna watch the whole video and make a judgement after, for me personally. Thank you for making me think. Keep in mind there's always a lot of chatter around the canucks when they're not in a good spot.

  5. Good video on our Captain. We need to convince him to stay. Can you make a video about that question? I think it would be good. Think about the core that needs to be there and perform to make him stay.

That's all I have to say about that.

  6. Ppl keep saying Hughes is so good yet he’s on the worst team in the league at the moment and the team has never really been good since he has been there. I feel this guy is highly over rated.

  7. If there was a dictionary entry for mismanagement there would be a picture of this franchise right next to it.

Even if they start the rebuild now it’s not gonna be a quick one because of all the bad contracts.

Sell everyone and everything with trade value, then fire the GM and the president. They are part of the problem, not the solution.

  8. Quinn isn't getting traded anywhere without an extension attached and that would only happen with NJ. Why would Philly give up top prospects to get him when he can just walk in free agency and play with his brothers. Personally, I see him finishing out his time in VAN and signing with NJ when his contract ends

  9. Assuming Wings get confirmation he will re-sign

    Wings get Quinn Hughes

Canucks Choose 4 of the following 1st round equivalent assets

Axel Sandin Pellika (recent first rounder, looks good at NHL but still needs to develop. Could be a 50-60 point version of Hughes)
Nate Danielsson (Also another reccent first round pick. Looks decent as a rookie, potential to be a Larkin play style second line center)
Trey Augustine (arguably best goalie prospect in the world)
    2026 lottery protected 1st
    2027 1st, no protection
    Carter Bear
    MBN

    ^any 4

+ one cap dump of their choice
    Rasmussen
    Compher
    Copp
    Gustaffson

  10. I'd rather Foerster over Danielson or Kasper. Foerster could still be transitioned to the center and is far better than either of those 2 idk what else Philly would have to add I think that's more where the issue lies. Jersey still makes the most sense since Hughes walking is to be of a risk

  11. New Jersey will not give up anything near Mercer + Nemec + 2x 1st round picks for Quinn Hughes.
Hamilton + Seamus Casey + 2026 1st round pick is probably the best offer they will give.

I think it's much more likely that Quinn Hughes is traded to another team (contender obviously) and will then either ride out the contract there and sign as a UFA with New Jersey or extend with whatever contending team he is traded to. Quinn Hughes to New Jersey is far from being sure bet (but him leaving Vancouver definitely is)

  12. Yes retool almost worked, i was on board, but it crashed and burned. It's time to move on.
Maybe if one the picks we used on Joulevi, Virtanen or Podkolzin on someone who could've been in the top 6f or top 4d things could've worked out. But we didn't and we have failed to acquire and keep top talent.

Rebuild is the best course and I'm not a rebuild badwagoner. It's time, if Quinn doesn't resign then this team has no hope. Get a good return for Hughes, ship out a goalie, free up cap space and go. We have Cootes, Wallander, Dpetey and Lek.
Those are solid pieces to start adding more nuking talent around. Let's just don't and rip the band aid off.

  13. Wow we’re gonna get fleeced on him huh. Michkkov untouchable for Hughes? Give me a break Hughes is 10 times the player.

  14. I hope he comes to Ottawa to play with his buddy Brady.

edit: also there's no way he's leaving unless vancouver wants to trade him. Quinn, unlike his brother (not luke) is a class act, and a quiet but capable leader.
He's going to win a cup in the next 10 years, and likely 2+ norris trophies if he can stay healthy. Vancouver would be trading away their best player in franchise history if they got rid of him… and yes I know how many legends played for this franchise… I'll die on that hill.

  15. I lived in Vancouver for nearly 60 years. The story in Canuck land has stayed the same for as long as I can remember. They get to the high end of mediocrity at best. Hughes should vacate at first opportunity.

  16. Probably cost Kasper, a #1, and a top prospect.
Still Larkin will be 30 before too long so is it time to do the big big trade?

  17. Canucks don’t deserve him never did they’ve done nothing to help this man I hate teams who waste their stars time and potential

  18. he warned he would give it a few years and he has.. i dont blame him it sucks badly for van but i get it this franchise does this all the time, how much you wanna bet if ep went to another team he would become super petey again… i just dont get it with this team they had a golden chance and they pissed it away on foote ?? shows zero commitment to winning acting like a rebuild team he wants to win now yes injuries figure in but this is just a badly coached team if theres any chance they need to dump foote now but even still not sure who could replace him anyways if this is the way we go and he wants out at least get lots for him but im sure they will f that up too so tired of this franchise been decades of this kind of crap us fans really are gluttons for punishment to keep coming back and ps the fact hughes isnt stepping forward to squash the rumors isnt encouraging and pss oh ya as a canucks fan our franchise player getting traded real fun talk ..wow
