Well that was untimely…

Canadiens defenseman Mike Matheson has a great opportunity in overtime, but a broken stick results in some frustration from the veteran.

  1. They had 3 goals, passed up on those opportunities, then a stick breaks. I feel like im watching the 2014 avalanche

  2. When I played in garage leagues, I used heavy, wood-handled sti😅cks. I broke many of those stupid flimsy sticks. A super hard shot is not the be all and end all.

  3. Is it me, or are sticks breaking a lot more frequently? Idk if the players are just getting stronger, or if the quality of materials is getting worse. Probably the latter

  4. Pathetic $400 sticks which seem to be quite unreliable and yet they are so expensive. I prefer the carbon composite ones of the past but my blade is fractured and needs replacing after using it for a long time but the blades are sadly no longer available.

  5. Makes it look like a video game. Now that I think about it, games probably only look off due to their camera movement.

  6. With CH so far out of position. He shouldve just shot instead of passing it. Was a higher chance play and stick wouldnt have broken

  7. These NHL sticks so regularly you would think the NHL players would have some better equipment. Can’t this issuer be rectified league wide??? Seems like simple fix

  8. They are so worried about reducing the weight of the stick when we had it fine 10 years ago and sticks were not breaking anywhere close to this

  9. Brauer been on some BS lately. Never see the old wood sticks break. But a carbon fiber stick supposedly strong than steel snaps from a regular slap shot

  10. 😊 the light stick wait will likely see a reduction in popularity after this critical mass is affecting players games so tangibly. Having a lightweight stick that can bend to the greatest degree is a very attractive for stick handling stealth and shot trajectory/ speed, but at a point the extent of broken sticks becomes so overwhelmingly instrumental in the squandering of opportunities to score… This technology has been pushed to its limit and now looks like it's seeing its day…I predict a reduction in what's the popularity of this phenomenon, and stick strength and durability will undoubtedly become more attractive as a feature sticks possess has more opportunities to score will be squandered in the games lost thereby. That is my overly verbose analysis 😜🏒
