Beating the Canes 5-1 and losing Woll is the Leafiest thing I've seen in a while.
Woll has a history of groin injuries. The goalie position is very different in comparison to a reg positioned player . Groin troubles are very bad given all the lateral movement at that position. Anyway, I'm not a huge fan of Woll. I hated the game 7 goal he let in. I also do not like the special treatment. What player can just leave for two months. That's crazy. They never told us why bc it would've given a bad impression of him. Otherwise no need for the tight secrecy. Ridiculous

Stecher looks way more solid than Carlo. Wonder if Carlo can be traded for a 2nd line LW? Cowan has been good but he needs more development. Laughton looked good there too, but he may be way more important driving that 4th line..

Woll won't be back any time soon. I saw the play where he injured himself. He had a major reaction to the injury but stayed in goal until he left. Hildeby will need to play the best he ever has to keep the Leafs progressing. If he can't, the Leafs have no chance. They have no one to trade for in terms of grade A NHL calibre goalies.
The Leafs medical staff went from best in the league to Dr. Nick. Keith Pelley is trash.

Last years team did not strike me as a cup contender in 2026. 2013-2018? Maybe if you get a Hasek light goalie run. Deadly offence AND solid defence wins championships in todays game. The leafs have never been able to do both and never come close. Weird huh?
