Whoops, our Adrian Kempe segment turned into a Mitch Marner segment. #SDP #Kings #NHL

  1. Can we just agree both contracts suck? 8yrs 85 mil for a 29yo with 0 PPG seasons is ABSURD

  2. Just a reminder that that terrible Marner contract resulted in him getting a raise on his next contract for max years into some of his declining years, and it would've been for more money had he not gone to a tax-free state. If that means he was overpaid then I have no earthly idea what being overpaid means anymore.

  3. I'm sorry Kempe isn't near the player Marner is. Marner is the best two way winger in hockey. I'd call him flatout the best winger in hockey. Kempe is good goal scorer. But let's not act like putting Kempe on different guys wings resulted in them scoring the most goals of their careers like it did with Marner. Let's not act like Kempe is a 100 point guy. Let's not act like Kempe is one of the best PK wings in the game. I mean look at the radical decline of the Leafs post Marner. That shows what his value was. You think that happens with L.A. If Kempe leaves? I don't. I think Kopitar hanging them up is going to be a bigger impact than Kempe. I get why they signed him at probably a slightly elevated rate. They can't afford to lose both of those guys in one off season.

  4. Adrian Kempe in his 10th season has never scored more than 75 points and has only reached 60+ points three times. Mitch Marner in his 10 season has reached 60+ points every year. He's reached 90+ points 4 times.

  5. I find it funny how everything has to filter through their "Leafs Fan" brain 🧠; because of that… Any contract being signed at a friendly-team discount causes them physical pain; as their Core4 players on their team were about raises. But… I will say this that out of the team right now… Only JT & Knies probably took sweetheart-team friendly deal. So for them they just wish more of their players took more friendly-discounts 😅

  6. Marner's contract is completely irrelevant, otherwise Marner's contract should be brought up every time anyone else signs as well. It's also hilarious 😂
