He would be awarded an additional unsportsmanlike penalty in addition to the five minute major if he had not removed the visor had the ref deemed him the instigator. He was playing it safe of sorts. After Benn drilled the Calgary player into the boards and then was stroked into going,one can only assume this is why Iggy removed his bucket.

who said anything about honor? iggy takes his helmet off all the time anyways because thats just him, thats beside the fact, who said anything about arguing? and yea, 9 out of 10 hits like that in the nhl will result in a fight, and the fact that benn accepted and clearly dropped the gloves, instigator is no longer a question its just a major to both regardless of the outcome. there's no argument here buddy, just sayin it wasnt anywhere near instigated.
if iggy just dropped the gloves and went after him and benn tried to avoid it, thats what refs are more looking for to call instigator on nowadays. for example, crosby fighting, he never gets an instigator, and i know he starts half of his fights to have a jump start edge. not saying u dont really know what ur talking about, but refs in the nhl do call penalties by the book, but more by their discretion then anything.

I never said that anyone that fights with a visor will get an instigator penalty but IF the ref DOES call one and the player IS wearing a visor he potentially COULD get an unsportsmanlike penalty.
