St. Louis Blues Shake-Up: Logan Mailloux Reassigned, Hunter Skinner Called Up

The St. Louis Blues have made a significant roster move, reassigning defenseman Logan Mailloux to their AHL affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds. This comes as a result of Mailloux’s challenging start to the 2025-26 season. Blues GM Doug Armstrong believes Mailloux needs a reset and a chance to regain his confidence.
Mailloux, a former first-round pick, was acquired from the Montreal Canadiens in a trade that saw the Blues sacrifice forward Zachary Bolduc. Despite his offensive prowess, Mailloux has struggled with decision-making and defensive play.
With the Blues’ season not meeting expectations, this move aims to give Mailloux a chance to rediscover his game. Meanwhile, Hunter Skinner, a 24-year-old defenseman, gets his first NHL opportunity. Skinner, acquired in the Vladimir Tarasenko trade, offers a physical presence that could be valuable for the Blues.
Will Mailloux bounce back in the AHL? And can Skinner make an impact in his NHL debut? Find out as we dive into the latest Blues roster moves and their potential impact on the team’s future.
