Carter: and it will never happen again!!!
I was at that game. The energy in the stadium was electric. Even the after party, was great!! No fighting, no stupidity. Just dancing, drinking and having a good time. I miss the 90s
Never seen an alley oop thrown with murder on its mind!
They could've had Stackhouse, Rasheed Wallace, Carter, and Antoine Jamison all at once if two didn't go pro ๐ณ that woulda been a show ppl.
even the fat dude on teh bench got up for that one
how'd Cota even know to set that Ish up is what I want to know
NYC STREETS BALL ๐
My guy Ed Cota was super underrated
Good afternoon ๐ from New Zealand ๐ณ๐ฟ
Joe came a long way from chasing kids with rocks ๐ชจ and a dirty white beater ๐๐๐
In regular time its like the ball disappeared then in slow mo you can see the ball bounce off the rim
Im a Duke Guy, but this UNC squad was something nasty
Dick didnโt care about the miss
That would of been nasty
That pass was perfect. What a point guard
There was actually another one when he was in Toronto where someone threw him a lob, but he couldn't completely handle it. It's the famous poster where he looks like he's flying from the baseline
All good tho! Heels got that W! Itโs was Awesome Baby!!!!๐
๐
The Victor O. Missed dunk gotta be right behind this
DAT bih came off the glass JUS right, too! Wit a lil SPIN on dat pill to send it RIGHT to'm.
I loved cota's game and wondered why he never played in the league. I was super young and didn't know shh tho.
Greatest play, not dunk. Vince executed the greatest dunk ever when he jumped over Weis
Did you see the spin on the oop …..he put some ENGLISH on it one of the best missed oops ever
Everyone like what he missed? But still his missed dunks still make you jump
I remember seeing this live. I thought he made it. Cota was DAT DUDE too!!!
Time out .. all five are coming out of the game… and may be done for the night.
We're talking about a tradition that wouldn't even let Michael Jordan score more than 15 pts a game. Facts
Bro I was catching dunks off the backboard throwing it off the backboard reverse and 9th grade and I was only 5'8 doing this in games stop it man dude it's a trash dunker Zach LaVine is the best and Dominique Wilkins 2nd then Michael Jordan 3rd
He averaged 8-9 assist per game in an era where end of game scores were in the high 40s to mid 50s. & That went for top competition as well. If he played now… Omg thats 12 apg out the gate. BOOK IT! (stephen A voice
The hardest missed dunk ever
The coach fell to his knees ๐
That's not the greatest dunk๐ I've seen better misses ๐๐พ๐๐พ๐๐พ๐๐พ
He dunked it so hard it didnโt even look like he missed until the slow me replay! ๐ฎ
We shouldโve won 2 titles in the 90s at minimum these teams were absolutely stacked
What about Ed Cota's pass through? Would've been pissed i just made the craziest in-game pass & the GOAT of in-game dunkin went butter fingers all the sudden.๐๐๐
Even it was missed, still one of the best college highlights
I remember watching this,I was so pumped. Everyone thought he made it
Carolina needs to get back to that level
bro it was a bad pass off the backboard
Bro no one peeps the spin EC put on the ball. That shit hit the backboard and made a hard right. CRAZY!
Bad alley
โPTPโer Baaaaaayโbeeeeee!!!โ
It looked like he made it
Was so fast I thought it went in ๐๐๐
Basketball is so much more intense when people are trying to get to the basket as opposed to everybody stopping at the 3pt line.
Ed Cota should be talked about more. A walking dimeโฆ
Letโs be real people, itโs the environment, rivalry, stadium energy, where the state of college basketball was at the time. Itโs a simple pass off the backboard alley oop. They are done every month now. However at the time, taking in everything, thatโs what makes it iconic. The rivalry. Even the NC fans cannot deny the Grant Hill one handed alley oop in the Final Four was just as iconic. Nothing beats 90s-2000โs College Hoops. And what a fantastic rivalry to this day.
Remember seeing that live on ESPN 2 and thinking if he made that dunk, the refs would have ended the game right there.
Iโm glad the homie from Augusta didnโt contest that shot #5 William Avery. Augusta, GA finest Westside High and Oak Hill Academy.
saw it in HS 97-98, talking about bout it the next day
