I hate this version of the Oilers, and I blame Knob.
There was a point where the Oilers had extended possession, cycled the puck around the perimeter, won a few battles on the boards and it came to Nurse and he put a soft wrister right into the goalie’s crest with no traffic in front. I literally laughed out loud. I don’t remember what period it was in but…that’s the Oilers this season.
Mcdavid is the best player in the world no doubt, but you can't expect him to not pass to anyone. He doesn't have a great shot. Connor Bedard, Auston Mathews, and Elias Pettersson all have a better shot then Mcdavid. Mcdavid is pass first and assists are how he gets his points. 64 goals was just a fluke and the the Oilers are no longer a 2 man team because they have talent in their bottom 6 to score. Kris Knoublauch just doesn't have enough trust (he's still better then adam foote tho)
Just think… if we had a top 10- top 15 goalie, its pretty safe to say that first goal doesn't go in, and that potentially changes the outcome of the entire game. Yes, a goal from our boys at some point would be great. Would be wonderful if Nurse's minutes were severely reduced as I don't ever really see him make a smart play. 30 foot shots that get blocked with ease, fumbling the puck and causing turnovers. Low hockey IQ plays all game. He's the bane of all current oilers fan's existence.

Why was the only slot shot that i can think of last night was by Hyman? ffs, they are easy to defend when they just keep circling the perimeter.

The fact people still dont give skinner credit is unreal, hes shown improvement over the past 2 games take that as a positive, yall dont need to shit on him every game
Your exactly right , Oilers play perimeter hockey and I believe teams have figured them out, Oilers become boring to watch , not sure what it is , maybe the coaching strategy Kris has lost total control, I believe he has made the Oilers stale !

If the coach and players gave the fans an opportunity to express some advice to them, they would probably improve their success rate.
Austin, how do you teach a group of players to play a system very mechanically like the Wild do? Every time an Oiler got into the slot with the puck , five blades of sticks were there within 1 feet to deflect it!? Why cant Oilers do that?
