This is just fear mongering. That flared position he said was dangerous is not dangerous and is actually the position many of the best raw benches end up in. Tucking is good for equipped lifting as it gets more out of the shirt but for raw lifters itβs not particularly useful
Kolb is one of the best to ever do it, but the βelbows must be tuckedβ thing is very much an equipped lifting thing.
The best raw benchers in the world all tend to have a more flared elbow position, especially once the bar has left the chest.
Reverse grip is fun though. Everyone needs to go watch Austin Baraki reverse grip 405 at 190-something BW. Sub to Barbell Medicine while youβre there!

These type of people are steong in gear because it is a skill you develop over time. Notoce how hes morbidly obese and doesnt look like hes touched anything but McDonalds for the last 20 years. Raw lifting is real lifting
If you all want to know how much that shirt is lifting just look at how much control he has when bringing the bar down and how hadd he has to pull tbe bar down on top of that. That tells you that shirt is helping too much because its so tight that its tight enough when worn that it can support 1400lbs. Its impressive when considering hey thats 1400lbs, but when you factor in that the shirt is probably lifting well close to 700-800lbs of that weight it becomes less impressive. I have seen this guy in his comments actually get offended just because people say equipped lifting is a joke and it truly is, no doubt this guy is strong, but he would be the last person I'd be taking any strength advice from as a raw lifter.
Interesting. I tore my shoulder 5 months ago. When I started lifting again with dumbbells i was keeping my elbows kinda of close to body. Started 5 lbs. Im at 60 lbs now, but i find that there's no pain when I flare the elbows out.
At 62 i go wherever there's the least amount of pain. I even can pause at the bottom of lift with the dumbbells touching my shoulders then lift, reps of 10.

Barbarian brothers benefited from this on the 80s
Massive triceps development from McDonald's
The dude weighs 1400 pounds
Joke
The guy moved his arms 3Β°s…. ya, not listening to him. He can't even lift the weight himself

Now I'm curious about an underhanded incline bench press π€
1400 pounds equipped.
The raw bench world record isn't even 800 pounds.
Slingshot are dumb, and pointless
Reverse grip BP and floor press w/BB or KB are potential game changers for strength development.
Id love to see 400 raw from this baloon

but I don't want massive tricep development on a bench
OMFG!!! 85 pounds?!!!!

His belly also shortens the range of motion which I think is cheating lol
First of all he never bench press 1400 lb that's wrong it's all elastic and chemistry π―π
Girl benches 140lb ,world championship celebration
Guy benches 1400 ,no one notices

So Im just glad i can work my chest again. π
That man could throw a Mini Cooper
I gotta give her props.
Ill never take geared lifters seriously.
Key word. Part of his routine
I don't know man, that crotch looks like a person who identifies as a female, not born as one
Equipped lifting aka… get the fattest gut possible, have the smallest ROM possible, and have the equipment lift as much of it as possible.
My dude moved his arms about 5 inches for that rep. It's still 1400lbs, so im imppressed
Interesting
It's all triceps tho
Imagine being proud of moving a bar 1 inch up and down and calling it a sport
