  1. Wild mix of headlines this week. Georgiev’s contract termination is the kind of move that sends shockwaves through a locker room — you don’t see a starting goalie cut loose every day. The autograph-hound drama feels minor by comparison, but it says a lot about how messy things can get around the league. As for NHL footage rules, creators are walking a tighter rope than ever. At least the Three Stars of the Week gave us something positive — actual on-ice excellence in a week full of noise.

  2. Quick question : teams are usually pretty secretive about the exact nature of injuries when speaking to the media and the general public, but are they required to give that information to the league office and/or the NHLPA ? Be it for statistical purposes, transparency purposes, insurance purposes, etc. ?

  3. Autographs used to be pursued and kindly asked for out of admiration and respect. F that now a days! It's like flying coach out there and everyone wants to steal your… humanity!

  4. If we met in person, I would not ask you for your autograph.

Depending on your apparent mood, however, I might ask you to do your best to forge Michael Buble’s signature, with the hope of getting him to counter-sign it with his best impression of your signature.

Because that would be hilarious if I could pull it off. 🤣🤣🤣

  5. Well-adjusted adults aren't usually seeking an autograph for personal reasons. They want to sell the autographed merch to make a profit.

  6. I'm a UPS driver in an area where I often see professional athletes. I've never asked for an autograph, but I do enjoy talking talking to them. Often it's "Hey ____, nice game on Tuesday. Fun to watch! Keep it going!" And usually I get a fist bump and a "Thanks man, appreciate it!"

  7. My general rule on selfies or autographs with players or celebrities is that unless they’re “on the job” – a con, a rare charity event where you’re allowed to ask, things like that, you shouldn’t expect one, and so you shouldn’t form an opinion on their quality based upon that.

I think it actually took one Blues practice (which I attended back when MacInnes was still playing) to learn that the autograph hounds and the people just begging for whatever ruined that experience on the fan side. So when I’ll see a Blues player out in the wild, I may look at them too long, but otherwise just leave them alone.

  8. Not directly from the league but I enjoy your videos with Brodie Brazil about the Sharks

  9. Special Jerseys. Here in Seattle we have frequent special jersey designs, often involving local artists, and they never become jerseys.
I think that is a lost $$$ opportunity and it surprises me the NHL is not all over that.

  10. At the end of the day the reason why the hockey player gets A big contract is the fan they paying for the bill if the player thinks of it that way then do the signature 😂 There ain't no money in lounging watching the NHL in your underwear at home with no contract 😂

  11. Georgiev was signed because 1) UPL came to camp hurt, and 2) they didn't want to mess with Levy's development calling him up from Rochester. The wild card was the Blues waiving Colten Ellis, a goalie who the Sabres had on their list. So here we are. Expect a Sabres goalie to get traded soon.

  12. The Tkachuk brothers podcast, Wingmen, is a pretty good idea and helps grow the spots to a new, younger audience.

  13. Met Pavel Bure for the first time because the girl i was with said she found a way to meet the players and get autographs so after the game we went to the private parking under the stadium. Walked up, over 20 years ago when security was like, ahha thats cute. Walked around and Bure comes out. She asks for the an autograph. I said I didnt want one because i felt bad we where invading his space. He still said he didnt mind. I was just blown away we were the same height. I know he was a smaller player, but I am only 5'7. He i think was listed as 5'10. Maybe thats with skates on.

  14. I enjoy the features you have done for the sharks. I would love to see more features and even a Sportsnet feature but I know it's out of your control and I don't expect it

  15. Would anyone buy a "The Hockey Guy" Hockey Card if he sold one?.. If so would you want him to Autograph it?
