Are the Canucks playing chicken with Jack Roslovic, or his he just the backup plan?

  1. I would go for roslovic as lots of variables elsewhere. See if can get him on short term deal and easier to move on if does not work out.

  2. Canucks have no salary cap space for Roslivic. They would have to move someone out to make room for him. A deal is not happening unless Roslovic accepts a lowball offer.

  3. Your giving to much credit to our ownership. Their likely trying to get Cory Perry or …. Drew Doughty ( because this is their mentality ).

  4. A healthy Chytil (a tall order, perhaps) is potentially better than Roslovic. His big, fast and not afraid to carry the puck up ice with authority. He just has to stay healthy. Roslovic at best would be backup, which is probably why he’s being careful about where he signs. If he signs in Vancouver and Chytil stays healthy, he’s a 3rd line centre and if he’s on a one year deal, he’s not raising his value. He probably wants to ensure he’s virtually guaranteed a 2nd C spot so he can parlay a good season into a long term contract with the cap going up. Everyone thought Brock was injury prone, and then he had a 40 goal season. Crosby had a couple of concussions, recovered and he’s pushing 40 while still putting up points no matter who he plays with.

  5. 3.25 mil for Roslovic, if he doesn't work out, we ship him somewhere else. He's basically gonna be a 2/3 C, a failsafe if Chytil gets more injury problems
