  1. If both Kaprizov and McDavid go to Toronto with team friendly salaries they might win the cup, I might even become a fan. But the former is more likely~

  2. The very end to the Stanley Cup is a flip of the coin. You guys are not giving Lady Luck its fair justice.

  3. McDavid is stuck between a rock and a hard place because he knows nobody can beat the Panthers and he can't join them

  4. The year Nurse was signed the number at the beginning of the season was rumoured to be $7-$7.5M and eventually grew to $8M for each teams top pair defenseman. The deal was to be done, but Werenski signed for $9.5M and suddenly everyone went up $1M. That’s how he got to $9.25M, remember this is pre-Bouchard Oilers where Nurse was their #1 and they had just lost Klefbom.

  5. In a way i hope mcdavid has a 140 season and still leaves lol white and blue PJs are about to be dusted off

  6. Management has led the team to be the undisputed best team in the west they have brought them to water its up to the team to drink. Any fan base in the nhl wishes they would've watched there team do what the oilers have done. The league and the media need to quit shitting on them. The panthers resigned an all star group for Penny's. Why? Uhm gee I wonder 🤔 sunbelt, no state tax, no media pressure. Shorts and golf year round. People who live in edmonton and have any money spend the winters in arizona and florida for a reason. If we lose davo its because of the weather.

  7. The talk about Ingram, his Mom died and that’s why he was on player assistance. Had nothing to do with alcohol or substance abuse.

  8. Lads you gotta stop comparing the makar and nurse contract. It wasnt about skill level, where makar is abolutely the best dmen, it had to do with RFA years and under 24 vs free agent years into late 20s and early 30s. Makars and hughes next contract will be over the same ufa years and they will make 14-15 mill a season.

  9. I strongly believe that if McDavid was in the maple leafs, they would win the cup withing the first year or 2 of him being there. McDavid with Matthews and Willy and knies, holy heck that would be an amazing team. And about cap space, I also think the superstars on the maples leafs would take a cut for McDavid and all including McDavid himself would take a little less than usual because I think they would all know they could win that cup. If all these guys wanna win a cup before theyre out their prime, I think they would all comprise a little money to make that dream come true

  10. The Nurse contract came after Chicago signed Seth Jones for $9.5M. Werenski also signed for $9.583M right before as well. In the 2020-21 season, Nurse had the most even strength goals for a defenseman, 4th in even strength points, 4th in TOI, 5th in +/-. He had a good year that year. He was also coming off a bridge deal so he was due for a raise. The Werenski and Jones deals skewed the market, and it's hurt the Oilers ever since.

  11. The delusion is so rampant and crazy in the Canadian hockey markets. 😂
    Here's a totally insane take.
If McDavid wanted to sign HE WOULD HAVE! 🤷‍♂️🤣
The guy clearly wants out after this year. The expectations for two players to carry the Oilers subpar overpaid/overrated roster to a Stanley Cup championship are crazy! Why wouldn't he want out to another team that's built to win for the next/last 10 years of his career?
    I would! 🤷‍♂️🤣
He's already gone. I'm amazed more people haven't figured this out already. I guess its the nightmare scenario they don't want t9 ever believe is happening. Lol.

  12. My opinion. Is he is already a conference champ and one of the best players in the world today. Gone back to back cup finals. He doesn’t need to go to a conference champ team. He does need a change of scenery. He needs to go to a team where he is credited for the team becoming a conference champ. Where he is a driving force for the team winning a cup. But also just a refresher.

I think people are lumping him in with players that are not in that conversation. He’s trying to be the or one of the greatest of all time. There’s boxes that have to be checked to become ready that.

Oilers were never going to be his entire career. I feel for those fans I really do. But I think if they really wanted to keep McDavid then they needed to trade Draisaitl (pickup some talented depth) Can’t have two number one centers, and he has to be ‘the’ guy.

In my (wild) opinion he’s going to surprise everyone. I don’t think these insiders have a damn clue what he’s going to do. I also think he’s a very smart guy (smartest in the room type).

I’m sure he already has a place in mind because he is a very smart dude (on and off the ice). There’s a few that I can think of and one specifically that would be a perfect matchup (which will surprise everyone).

Only time will tell. But I just have a feeling he’s knowledgeable enough to know that destination. I would suspect he’s even had his eyes on them for a few season now (I also think he’s smart enough to be a winning NHL GM after his career as a player). Probably intimately familiar with the players on the team and the locker room culture as well. I just think Connor is wicked smart on top of being a world class talent.

My wild prediction is he’s headed East. Age, relationships, change of scenery, familiarity, perfect timeline, placement, and culture (one specific team come to mind).

I do hope he gets in before they pull it off on their own. Which I also think is going to surprise a lot of people.

  13. Stu 3 shutouts in a row, because of defense depth of entire team effort .
Pickard 11 wins in a row in tough playoff teams. because of defense depth of entire team effort .

Bouchard allowed ALL THE GOALS THAT RUINED THEIR ABILITY PERIOD.
NO MATTER WHO IS IN NET -Till Bouchard is fixed it won't matter who is in net.
Denying it will not make that fact go away ever .
Wake up guys go back and watch every goal against , it's always defensive screw ups ALWAYS

  14. McJesus to the Red Wings! Great young core with plenty of talent coming up through the system. Would be cup contenders until he retires!

  15. There are many things that went wrong to get to this point of the McDavid era but I think it started after the 16-17 season. The Oilers just come off of their best season in over 10 years including a good playoff run. Instead of expected progression the team imploded over the next two seasons. In hindsight it was a costly setback.

  16. Skinner is not a 1a goaltender, he let's in easy goals usually the 1st shot beats him on every period. Got pulled multiple times in playoffs

  17. The distance they fell short was less than the difference of missing Hyman. They would not have fallen as short with him if at all. The improvements if healthy will win this year.

  18. Can we all forget that the Panthers we're done until they gave the Leafs a forearm shiver to the back of their goalies head before they lost

  19. This is such a dumb conversation. "He should move to a competitive team" The oilers just went to the SCF 2 seasons in a row.
Which other team out there can make room for him and stay competitive?

  20. Here’s my hot take. Edmonton will not make the finals this year. They still don’t have the depth and I’m sure the teams they rolled through in the past couple years, have now seen what it takes to shut Edmonton down by watching Florida. NHL teams always have done a great job of adapting to different styles and different structures over the years.

  21. Just Imagine a world where McDavid signs in TOR .
At that point take NMC aside would a Matthews for Draisitl trade be a good deal for either team or would TOR have to add?
Because Draisitl said he would like to continue playing with McDavid.

  22. I think its very smart by him, to make his team understand the commitment on his part and their part if he moves forward. It forces them to put there best foot forward this year. It really pushes them in the direction that they need to value how important this season is.

  23. Love these fellas but its turned into a bad podcast hate to say it. Only time i listen is when theirs not a chiclets or 32 thoughts upload. Anyways boys still appreciate the effort!

  24. I still can’t understand why we didn’t get a new goalie. If they put someone more consistent and just good in net, we are best team in hockey. With Barkov going down, we might be the best team by a pretty good margin. They have to figure that out before the playoffs at the very least. Give Skinner one more shot, but if he isn’t a generational goalie this year (which he won’t be), then get someone at the deadline even if you have to overpay

  25. Yall can have him once he starts declining which is already happening. Hes not the same player he used to be. Something has changed. His drive seems gone. Will be4 nice to see him on another team. I am 100 percent an Oilers/McDavid fan but I have common sense.
