Yes. Max is very intelligent and has an excess of mental capacity. When he's not leading he uses that excess mental capacity to rationalize his outrageous car placement and braking across the competitions lines, forcing them to take avoiding action or crash. It's sad really. He shares the mental cunning that Senna and Schumacher employed to obtain their WDCs. Fast drivers with fast brains. But not very nice people.
When Max finishes P10 the car is shit, when Max finishes P1 the car could still be shit.

So,.. Max is pretty much exactly like ANY and ALL Great F1 world champions over the last 25+ years… the driving itself becomes almost automatic to them and the strategizing. real time systems management and situational awareness is off the charts level, and what sets them apart when the car is good and competitive.
All the best have had this skillset. We've see the same in Carlos and George as well…
The issue is simple. They are not British.
Good engineer? Yes. Genius? Hell No.

Vettel was so ruthless, absolute designed to win. No mercy to anyone, Max reminds me of him, same team too and car designer. But I think Vettel was even more stronger in hes prime, but Max can do things Seb couldn't like he said himself. I don't apologise for winning.

Verstappen is the Michael Schumacher of the 21st century. He was often disliked by rivals, he was ruthless in the car, and he could overdrive a car and still make it faster.
