Robby Fabbri Signs PTO with AHL’s Charlotte Checkers – NHL Veteran’s Next Move



NHL veteran forward Robby Fabbri has signed a Professional Tryout (PTO) contract with the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL). The Florida Panthers affiliate announced the move on Monday. Fabbri, a 29-year-old native of Mississauga, Ontario, played 44 games last season with the Anaheim Ducks, scoring 8 goals and 8 assists. Previously, Fabbri was on a PTO with the Pittsburgh Penguins during training camp but did not secure a contract. Drafted 21st overall in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, Fabbri has played 442 career NHL games with the St. Louis Blues, Detroit Red Wings, and Anaheim Ducks, tallying 106 goals and 110 assists. He was a key member of the Blues’ 2019 Stanley Cup-winning team and represented Canada at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championships, winning gold.
