Josh Norris returning for the Buffalo Sabres may not be a great thing for their lineup

The Buffalo Sabres are getting their #1 center, at least on paper, back into the lineup in time to play the Winnipeg Jets. Josh Norris has played just four games for the Sabres, but is stepping right into a big role at the top of the lineup as he comes back from injury. What Norris returning does though, is moves Tage Thompson back to the wing, which Sneaky Joe does not believe is his best position. Can Norris help the powerplay? Will he play penalty kill?

Plus, what we saw from Noah Ostlund, Colten Ellis, and others in the win over the Minnesota Wild over the weekend. And the Sabres face a Connor Hellebuyck-less Jets team at home on Monday.

  1. Yeah, just the bummer i needed when my favorite hockey player ever returns to play the sport he loves after some very, very, very crappy luck the past 3 years.

  2. Great. Now move UPL to open up a roster spot so when these injured guys come back, you aren't shuffling players through waivers.

  3. I have so many positives from Colton Ellis, he is still young as you see in some instances but he is very patient and doesn't scramble to get to saves like UPL does. Every goalie is gonna have a bad game and get beat by a good shot, but its the bad shots that need to be saved and thats where I have my biggest criticism of UPL. Atleast if Lyon or Ellis get goals on them, they fought for it. I don't want to just crap over UPL but when he does get a good save it usually puts him out of position for a followup. Which is what I have noticed pretty much every start he has had.

  4. Joe Marino on Locked on Bills doesn't base his content/ commentary on ways the fan base can get into Twitter beefs dude…

Hot freaking take sports radio gas bag… you can be so much better than this… stop chasing engagement and be engaging… please…I know it must be tough with them losing, but this team is playing way better than their record and so much better than the last two seasons too… it's frustrating, but they need to finish consistently…you can say that's bad GMing, but these players have finished in the past…the tape to tape passes and extended offensive zone time… they just need to finish at the last step

  5. If UPL has to play almost every game to be β€œgood” then he isn’t worth keeping. at the end of the day he is a placeholder for when Levi is ready to be the number 1. Have a goalie like Ellis who has the potential to be a great 1b.

  6. First it was too many injuries…. now we're healthy and that's an issue. Yikes pick a narrative folks

  7. It's not a bad thing either, and who knows if he has the odor of the franchise on him yet. On the flip side, others are acting like a sure-fire 100 point guy is returning when he averages something like 53 points per 82 games played. So his return is probably somewhere in the middle of hot take central here.

  8. Norris is better than cozens. Let's hope Norris can finally stay healthy or not and maybe it'll be time to think about hanging the skates up for him.

  9. I still have no idea how people defend the norris trade? How many games has norris played? How many points has he scored? And now he is coming back and tage is getting pushed to wing? No one should be taking tage off that 1C spot and yet here we are… idk it just feels like between this, three goalie rotation, and sending rosen down that the team is constantly rake stepping.

  10. If Norris stays truly healthy… The Lord πŸ™ of the K-RING (minus K) is gonna start blitzin'… I can see πŸ™ˆ it… I'm serious man look out… When the played CHI it was like boys amongst MEN… The Lord πŸ™ is rising… I'm telling you… Put your money πŸ’° down πŸ‘ πŸ’ πŸ’― βš”οΈ

  11. They need to give Levi a chance. He's frustrated obviously and it shows on the ice in the AHL. He wants to be a Sabre that badly that he's actually breaking down in Rochester. He has his moments still where he shows up but rn, until he gets called up, you won't see him improve anytime soon. He feels like he has nothing to work for

  12. 6 points: I give the Sabres 6 extra points from where they are due to all the injuries… 3 points they would have earned in OT wins (they've had at least 7 OTs), and I'm taking 3 points from UTA, BOS PIT, STL, CAL… I'm saying if they were true healthy they would have at least 3 extra points from those teams. So in my mind they have 30 points. Which puts them up there. PS – please don't make a r#tarded comment on here… Please? 6 points is fair πŸ‘ πŸ’ πŸ’― βš”οΈ
