  1. When i haven't bouldered for a couple of months, I need close to a week to fully recover, so makes sense that you needed more than 4 days too.

  2. this channel has always been my top 1 climbing channel so far, and see you coming back and trying hard again is wonderful

  3. Hey Eric!

I've been following your channel and journey since nearly the beginning (4k subs!?), so first and foremost I'm glad to see you have the energy and motivation to get back to climbing. The joy on your face throughout this episode was infectious in the best way possible.

As a climbing and S&C coach, I'll admit that when you initially posted about your weight loss journey I was a bit dubious given the context of weight within climbing as a sport and my own experiences with weight as a taller climber.

That being said, I have been pleasantly surprised by how you haven't been overtly glorifying weight loss as a "magic pill" in the same way that other creators/influencers have in the climbing space, and your decision to lose the weight originally coming from a place of health, having consulted with medical professionals. The mention in your original video that this topic deserved to be treated with some grace and nuance is very much appreciated, and in the series so far it feels like you're doing a service to it, especially with your focus on maintaining your physical training throughout the process (even if it meant taking a step back from climbing).

Looking forward to seeing how you navigate the reintroduction to climbing, the good and the bad. You're a crusher.

  4. Eric we love you! Without you I would never discover the joys of climbing your videos introduced me to the sport that took away so much of the negativity in life. You are an amazing story teller and a beautiful cinematographer. Thank you for the life force you have spent creating the media we consume it has influenced innumerable souls! I wish you the best of luck on your journey back to the top! Although anybody who knows Eric knows he needs no luck as he has the ability to dedicate everything to his goals and this is always rewarded in success!

  5. This feels like the Eric I know and love. Keep working hard, keep pushing and keep smiling dude! You got this.

  6. So happy to see you back looking healthy and happy. I just want to say I am super impressed by your journey and your way back. You disipline is insane. The way you make a plan and then actually make it happen. Very impressive. Can't imagine how hard it must have been being in your position and with your health issues. Wish you all the best!

  7. Le dude is feeling himself, as he should! great fkn work 😀 I wish everyone the strength to stay within healthy limits.

  8. Your videos bring me so much emotion, I've been on the edge of my seat the whole almost dropped a tear at the beginning.

  9. 24:14 Did they actually move the top hold down a bit cause last move was maybe a bit overcooked? Anyway insane return regardless absolutely insane inspiring stuff 😀

  10. Hell yeah! GOAT-man is back! Good to see. Out of curiosity, have you found that your climbing style has changed with the balance issues?

  11. You’ve inspired me so much, Eric! I’ve been watching you for years now, and I really missed seeing you on the climbing wall. I’m around your starting point at the moment—currently 97 kg and trying not to go over 100. At 182 cm I feel pretty heavy, and my goal is to get down to 85 kg over the next year so I can start climbing again.

I’ve started doing more than 10,000 steps a day and listening to Atomic Habits—probably one of the best books I’ve listened to so far. It’s clearly been a really painful journey for you, and it’s awesome to see that you have such an amazing team supporting you. I’m really looking forward to all the banger videos you’ll put out for the rest of the year. Stay healthy! ♥
