  1. There is no trade coming any time soon. Quinn has repeatedly told the media that he hasn't decided on anything, which means he won't even consider his future until July 1 next year. That will mean they will probably start chatting then and probably won't get anything done right away so we all just wait and see what he wants to do. If he decides he is going to test free agency, they the Canucks will get next to nothing for him at the trade deadline. That will basically start a de facto rebuild the moment he is gone. Canuck management is in a real no win situation for now, but maybe Quinn does resign and all will be well in Canuck land. The way they are playing now is a bad omen for the Canucks.

  2. Quinn might not have a no trade clause but he can tell the interested teams that he will absolutely not sign with them. Some teams might be ok with only having him for a yr and a half or so but imo most team would shy away from pulling the trigger on sending large packages if they don’t think he’ll be there past the 26-27 season. That’s where it favors NJ.

  3. IF the Canucks were to trade Quinn to New Jersey, this is what I’d like to see come back: 2026 1st rounder, 2027 2nd rounder, Dawson Mercer, Simon Nemec, and Lenni Hameenaho. Unfortunately they don’t have a young center of note but Mercer can play there for now, Nemec replaces Hughes on D, Hameenaho (projects as top 6 winger) goes to Abbotsford, and two future picks to stock the farm. I don’t want Hamilton. This trade at least benefits the team now and for the foreseeable future. In a year or two Cootes will join the team and that’s a solid young core.

  4. Canucks organization is a complete shitshow… and thats coming from a Kings fan whose organization makes one disaster move after another.

  5. I really dont understand the mindset here on this about him not wanting to sign is odd, elias petterson signed..he didnt have to, connor garland signed he didnt have to, even boeser signed, none of these players had to sign they coulda said no and walked yet they stuck around, why wouldnt quinn?

  6. A Quinn Hughes trade would go down as one of the worst days in franchise history. Only chance of redemption would be if what we get in return eventually turns into a cup.

  7. Trade Quinn Hughes for maximum value. Look what happened to Anaheim Angels when they stubbornly refused to trade Ohtani. He walked in free agency for nothing. How did that work out 🤔

  8. This team, even without trying on the management's part, is now tanking for McKeena. But having been a Canuck fan for so long, I can totally see that when the team finally lands that first overall pick, they will promptly trade the pick away for three 35+year-old former 30-goal scorers, each with an 8-mil AAV contract for the next 6 years just so they can sneak into the playoffs because "you never know what will happen once you get in."

I actually KNOW what will happen when a team just sneaks into the playoffs – it will fight like mad, but in one round or two, it will lose to a team that is purposefully constructed to actually contend.

  9. The Isles and Canucks have done business before and the NYI don't sell chronically concussed players. Imagine Scheafer and Hughes on the same deadline? Beating his brothers across the four rivers from Queens to Newark! The Isles have lots of picks accumulated. Their prospect list has risen to top ten in the NHL, whereas the Devils are in the bottom ten. The Devils would have to give up talent from elsewhere on their roster.

  10. Imagine they send him to Detroit. Detroit will have the best defensive pairing with him and Seider. The Wings are also on the up so he will be seeing playoffs. It would solve their defensive problems for the most part.

  11. Send him and a 1st to Jersey in exchange for Jack and Luke Hughes. Eventually Quinn will demand a trade to Vancouver to play with his brothers. That is the perfect plan, hopefully Ruthervin pull it off.
