Kevyn Adams needs to stop hoping UPL will become consistent. He won't. Now is the time to trade him while he is at the top of his game. Same with Krebs. How long do you have to hope and wait to see if players develop. They won't. Take a page out of the Bruins roster makeup if a player gets called up and doesn't develop within a couple of years they are gone.
Tale of two streaks. They've won four of their last five, beginning with Dahlin's return in the OT win in Detroit, includes wins by three, four and six, and an inexplicable loss at home to the worst team in the league by points-percentage, when they were coming off a game in the Central Time Zone the night before.
Immediately preceding this spurt, they LOST eight of nine, four in OT, the other four by three goals, including being shutout by Joel Almighty Hofer. The win was in a shootout, vs. an Eastern Conference rival, where Luukkonen stopped all five shooters.
When/if the hot streaks stay hotter for longer than it takes for them to steer out of slumps, they'll have a chance at piling up points at the kind of pace they need to climb back into the race.
With respect to the goaltending, what is the most likely outcome? Luukkonen rediscovers his form from only two years ago (2023-24), when he received votes for the season-ending All-Star Team; Lyon suddenly becoming a 50-55 game workhorse for the first time in his career, during a season in which he'll turn 33 in a couple of weeks; or Ellis turning into the mother of all waiver finds? I mean, it happens with goalies; they are voodoo; but it happens so rarely that they make movies about the guys who pull off that kind of rags-to-riches transformation. If you have to bet on any of those scenarios; and they DO; the smart money is on getting Luukkonen back up to a level he's shown he can reach.
It's November 24th. DO you know where your Alex Tuch is playing next year?
Samuelson is a completely different guy. It’s like we acquired a new player. It’s fair to say he was horrible and he was terrible. There’s no other way to put it how much of that has to do with injuries. I don’t know, but he was borderline unplayable and now he is a beast. I watch him not like holy shit, which is awesome. There’s a smile on my face, but there’s no getting around how bad he was.
I don’t see a huge difference in the performance of the goalies this year. To me the biggest problem with the goalies are that there are 3 of them. Especially with LR’s dart board, tarot card method of choosing the starter. I would like it much more if they picked 2, moved the third and then brought Rosen back up.
Third star for UPL! Guerin in attendance 😮. Underrated point, all good teams need a good top line, so i like this first line with Doan, Tuch, and Thompson.
Also, Sabres article on Strabek and Geary on the Sabres website for Michigan State. They are top pair tough as hell roommates for 3 years . Strabek is gonna be another good player with the high second round pick. Sabres defense is stacked now and in the future. Any observations on them this year Kris?
Also with Samuelson and a lot of their other key players are actually getting into their prime more, with more experience. Also Dahlin, Thompson, and a few others
18 teams had scouts at the game against the Flames as well as the Olympic national team reps. Maybe this forces Adams hand at finally getting a trade for some help.

If we finally hit a 3 game win streak, is it safe to say the cup run is back on?!!

Good to see "Weak to Weak" Mattias turning up his game, who would've thought the Sabres D would be better than the Bills D 😳
It's unfortunate that Ellis can't go to Rochester. It would be interesting to see him and Levi compete.

This is a solid podcast
Ruff has made it clear multiple times that Samuelson is the team's best defenseman right now. Noteworthy he advertises the fact.
We don't see practices. Lyon may not look good in practice and that is why he hasn't gotten a start.

If you know anything about Lindy Ruff he has always gone with the hot goalie.
Who cares about the 3 stars! Really?

What is BFHS?
Kevyn Adams should be fired just for the fact he made this goalie mistake before and didn’t learn from it.
Another good video 👍
Laukkanen has a bad glove side. If they shoot to his glove side he is extremely week there.
Just a little psa for everyone, cozens leafs the senators with a -10, not the best stat but I think it tells the story of why we traded him
sign Tuck or trade him it's becoming a distraction also on Sunday UPS's rebound control was atrocious
