The Hextall GM period of Flyers Hockey was very disappointing. The signing of Dale Weise is a perfect example of the many mis-steps made by him during his dictatorship. That being said Claude Giroux should not have been a Captain in my opinion. The best player doesn't always equal best Captain choice. I think that Simmonds would have been better in the Captains role. I am not going to totally dismiss Weise's comments because he sucked while here. The teams during Hextall's reign of terror always seemed dispassionate to me.
Dale the real issue was our bottom 2 lines including you had the talent of an average peewee player. You were a fucking bum that's why never got a long contract with any team and played for multiple case closed.
Both players he was talking about were 1oo times the plater Dale W. ever was ! Dale was widely known as a problem/negative player on the team including him trying to negatively influence younger players. I believe VERY little of what he said considering he was TERRIBLE in Philly. It would ne different if he was even remotely productive. He was far from that !

Claude was one of the best offensive players in Flyers history!
He was put into a leadership role too soon and it hurt the franchise for a long time. I’m still an a fan of 28!!
Giroux was invisible more then not, if you weren't there on the bench or in the room you cant say he was some great leader.
This is a bunch of crap. Every Flyers fan knows that everyone lived G and he loved them back. He was captian for a reason. This is simply Flyer hating. Nothing real.
